Dear friends around the world,

I was in the planning stages and preparation for my retirement these few weeks when I was given this incredible news that that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is planning a private visit to China! A few weeks ago we saw in ‘The Wire’ stating Samdhong Rinpoche (Envoy of Dalai Lama) was visiting China. I quote from The Wire:

“Within this rapidly-unfolding scenario, the Dalai Lama appears to have sent Samdong on a discreet visit to Kunming (China)” by P. Stobdan on December 4th, 2017.

It was again ‘reconfirmed’ that Samdhong Rinpoche visited China discreetly sent by His Holiness in ‘Tibetan Journal’ published December 5th, 2017. So two media platforms are relaying the events that Samdhong Rinpoche has visited Kunming quietly as sent by the Dalai Lama and this can only be to negotiate a visit by the Dalai Lama to China or possibly Tibet eventually. I concluded that it must be to negotiate a visit of the Dalai Lama to China and eventually Tibet which I welcomed very much and what else can it be?

Dorje Shugden had taken trance of the oracle and told me personally that in the future there will be big political changes in way of positive benefits. The changes would be big and to look for it. If this comes true, this could be the political change Dorje Shugden told me clearly and precisely in February 2017. Today I get news that His Holiness is planning a visit to China! Stunning news indeed. Published December 15, 2017 in ‘The Tribune’* that His Holiness is planning a private trip to China! Just a few weeks after Samdhong Rinpoche’s published ‘discreet’ visit to China, now we hear His Holiness is planning a trip to China also. This is just the best news I’ve had in decades I must say.

In order for this to happen, the cold relations between Beijing and the Dalai Lama must be thawing out. At the same time, before Samdhong Rinpoche can even negotiate a potential visit for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to China, a green light must have been given by the generous Indian government. It is only courteous and proper that His Holiness would ask the Indian government’s opinion of a private visit to China because it can have major ramifications for many parties including Sino-Indian relations as well as Tibet and her six million people. The current president of the USA has refused to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama unlike his predecessors and this might also be a factor in which the Dalai Lama is starting to open up to China. After all it was for decades the USA has supported financially the Dalai Lama and his Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in Dharamsala, North India. The name Central Tibetan Administration was downgraded from Tibetan government-in-exile as requested by the Indian government. It does seem strange to have an exiled government of Tibet on the sovereign Indian soil and to add, India does adhere to the fact that Tibet is a part of China.

Personally I am overjoyed to hear this potential visit to China by His Holiness the Dalai Lama after 58 years of exile counting from 1959 when he left Tibet. There are millions of Tibetans in Tibet who wish very much to see His Holiness and a visit would definitely be such huge news for them. I personally feel it is excellent for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to visit China and there are some good results that would follow:

  1. China’s policies on Tibet would radically change. Many things that the people working under the Dalai Lama in CTA complain about would change in regards to governance of Tibet by China.
  2. As His Holiness the Dalai Lama is allowed to visit China, he will definitely know how to negotiate as he is a seasoned politician and spiritual leader on a visit or return to Tibet. This visit to China will eventually lead to a visit to Tibet. After all, there is nothing for His Holiness the Dalai Lama in China besides a visit.
  3. Many countries that do not allow His Holiness the Dalai Lama to visit due to deference to China, will be more open to him visiting.
  4. The six million people in Tibet will be overjoyed. Many of the older generation have passed away but there are many that are around the age of the Dalai Lama who have not seen him for 58 years and it would be a joyful reunion.
  5. For the last 58 years, His Holiness has a ‘protectorate of India’ travelling document which means he is a guest of India (refugee) but not a citizen. His Holiness has never taken Indian citizenship in hopes he can return to Tibet and perhaps live there again. So now he can become a ‘Tibetan’ citizen again.
  6. His Holiness the Dalai Lama would be overjoyed to see the places where he grew up, received his education, his palace, perhaps relatives and his beloved Tibet. After all who would not be happy to return to the land of their birth if all is alright.
  7. Perhaps the 150,000 Tibetans in India can also return to Tibet for visits without much red tape and if the Dalai Lama eventually stays in Tibet permanently, then can they migrate back also.
  8. It has always been a splinter in the foot for India’s relation with China as they have the Dalai Lama and Tibetans in India as their ‘guests’ for nearly six decades. With this warming up of relation between His Holiness the Dalai Lama and China, there is a potential the relation between India and China improves. Perhaps finally the Sino-Indian border issue can be resolved.
  9. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is now 82 years old and for normal mortals like us that is getting up there in the years. He has been living outside of Tibet longer than he has been in Tibet and it has been his personal wish to visit and return. He has mentioned this many times. It would be beautiful if his personal wish can come true after serving sentient beings for most of this life. He has worked very hard. It would be nice, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his fondest wish come true.
  10. Much negative rhetoric true or false in regards to Tibet will reduce towards China once Dalai Lama visits. People cannot accuse Dorje Shugden practitioners of colluding with China or being paid by China to defame the Dalai Lama which for me is not true. All negative attacks on Dorje Shugden practitioners of colluding with China should in fact cease immediately. After all even while in planning stages of Dalai Lama’s potential visit, we should stop the rhetoric against China and make the path smooth so His Holiness can visit China and eventually Tibet. After visiting China, His Holiness himself will be working closely with China I am sure and as Tibetans we must follow suit.

There are many benefits to a visit to China by His Holiness the Dalai Lama but these are just a few. There are Tibetans who accuse Dorje Shugden practitioners such as myself of colluding with China to defame His Holiness the Dalai Lama which is not true at all. I have never said anything disrespectful to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and I respect him very much. I have never colluded with anyone or any governments to ‘work against’ His Holiness. I have not agreed with the Tibetan leadership to discriminate against Dorje Shugden as a spiritual faith or their practitioners. Because when you discriminate against a group of persons for their faith, it can open the doors to much more discrimination based on color, gender, sexual orientation and so on. This is not correct.

No spiritual or secular leader of the 21st century should ‘advise’ against anyone’s religion. Whether a person is in the ‘right’ religion or not is up to the individual and not any leaders. To divide and segregate anyone based on religion is dangerous and creates much sufferings. Also it will not look good for the political or spiritual leaders to be seen ‘advising’ against anyone’s faith. It makes them look narrow, intolerant, undemocratic and taking away religious freedom. Powerful spiritual leaders like His Holiness the Dalai Lama ‘advising’ against Dorje Shugden would lead his followers to ostracize and insult those who practice Dorje Shugden and other forms of segregation in order to please him which is what is happening.

Ironically China does allow the freedom to choose your religion as I have friends and relatives in Tibet and Xinjiang who are practicing Buddhists and so on. There is no issue of the practice of Dorje Shugden in China or Tibet from the side of the government. I would assume if His Holiness the Dalai Lama sits down with the leaders of China on his visit they would advise him to not speak for or against Dorje Shugden’s practice for the sake of harmony and peace in Tibet and the Chinese nation. In this way the 400 year old practice of Dorje Shugden would be free to be followed by its adherents without further prejudice, ostracization and segregation. China has repaired the 400 year-old historical chapel dedicated to Dorje Shugden called Trode Khangsar in Lhasa itself. This chapel was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in dedication to Dorje Shugden.

This would be a great event and I sincerely from the bottom of my heart wish His Holiness the Dalai Lama can visit China and eventually Tibet. I know he would be so happy and I would sincerely be happy for him. It is important for Tibetans outside of Tibet and their supporters to not berate China any further. We must do our best that the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will come true. On social media I have said many times that we Tibetans should not bombast and call China all types of derogatory names if we wish to fulfill His Holiness’s wishes. We must be civil and create the causes so that His Holiness the Dalai Lama can visit China and then finally Tibet. I wish the best for His Holiness the Dalai Lama always.

Sincerely,
Tsem Rinpoche

Updated Addendum (December 16, 2017)

Phayul.com is a news media that is one of the mouthpieces of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) regime located in Dharamsala. It serves the English speaking Tibetans and supporters for news on Dalai Lama, Tibetan diaspora and anything Tibetan that is leaning more towards politics. It has a milder stance of writing because free speech writing exposing the foibles, mistakes and failures of the Tibetan government in exile or CTA is frowned upon and it can get you closed down as it did to other free speech Tibetan medias in Dharamsala. There are a few points in this article that are very interesting, titled “Cautious Sangay says Samdhong Rinpoche made a ‘private visit’ to China”.

  1. It quotes from an article in “The Wire” dated December 4, 2017 by Stobdan, a former ambassador of India, that Samdhong Rinpoche has made a personal trip to Kunming, China to meet with a Chinese official named You Quan. It is interesting that no Tibetans are allowed to go to China and if they do, it is through a long process of checks and approvals, they are called derogatory names and are accused of colluding with China against the Dalai Lama. Even if you have relatives and friends in Chinese provinces and if you are ‘caught’ contacting them, you are accused of working with the Chinese to defame Dalai Lama. CTA and their cronies are very expert in saying things without saying it directly to infer someone is connected to China and get the crowd to condemn and CTA will step back to look innocent. Within the Tibetan society, if you are connected to China, you are automatically branded as working against the Dalai Lama. This is how CTA keeps their people in line by fear and ‘united’. When a Tibetan does not agree with the policies of CTA, the preferred method is to accuse the person of colluding with China which automatically brands you as a traitor and therefore ‘qualifies’ you to be verbally attacked, ostracised and segregated. The reason to segregate you is to force you to fall in line with their opinions and rules. This is how it’s done in Tibetan society or under the governance of CTA in Dharamsala. So people like myself who have been practising Dorje Shugden for 34 years (since 1982) when I was 18 are segregated and encouraged to be insulted on social media. Samdhong Rinpoche has an infamous saying that the moustache should be separated from the mouth in regards to Dorje Shugden practitioners. This is a Tibetan saying which means the moustache is near the mouth which makes it look like it is a part of the mouth when it’s not and it has to be separated, alluding that Dorje Shugden people should be removed from the mainstream Tibetan society. This is outright segregation, discrimination and prejudice based on religion. Getting back to the point, Samdhong Rinpoche, one of the highest and closest officials of the Dalai Lama did go to China. Where he met the officials in China does not matter but he did go. How is it that he is allowed to go? The fact is from “The Wire”, “Tibetan Journal”, “Phayul” and “The Tribune” media all state Samdhong Rinpoche went to China. Head of CTA Lobsang Sangay never denied Samdhong Rinpoche went to China to meet officials. He does not deny it was to meet officials and at the same time he says it is a personal visit. What personal visit is there if you are meeting officials? The fact is Samdhong Rinpoche went to China and it has never been denied is suspicious. The lack of clarity as the reason why he went to China leads to speculation it can only be for the purpose of the Dalai Lama and the Tibet situation. It is typical of the CTA to say something then recant or be unclear or keep you in the dark, yet you have to support them. The way they govern is not very professional or inspire faith in their methods. Furthermore, if Samdhong Rinpoche can simply go to China, then Lobsang Sangay, Penpa Tsering and the rest can also simply go into China/Tibet anytime. This shows how liberal China is. Then what are the restrictions for ordinary people like us to go to China?
  2. Miss Anastasia Lin, Miss World Canada 2015 who is of Chinese decent, was banned from China for criticising their policies. Just think, this representative of Canada who spoke against China just once was barred from entering China to attend the 65th annual Ms. World pageant in Hainan, China. People in the Central Tibetan Administration of Dharamsala such as Lobsang Sangay, Samdhong Rinpoche, Penpa Tsering and so forth have been criticising and defaming China for decades. Suddenly Samdhong Rinpoche is allowed to go on a private visit to Shanxi province according to Lobsang Sangay as quoted in Phayul December 15, 2017. On a private visit? How is this possible? China will bar those who are against their policies or seen to create instability in their country as they want stability. Just like how USA has strict rules for people of Muslim decent to enter the U.S. these days, which is too bad. How is it possible Samdhong Rinpoche can be allowed to visit China on a private excursion to enjoy himself at a Buddhist holy site Wutai-Shan mountains in Shanxi? Whether he visited Kunming or Shanxi is not the point. Samdhong Rinpoche would be travelling on an Indian protectorate passport which clearly states he is a Tibetan refugee and there is no way he can get past China’s immigration. Such a high profile person as Samdhong Rinpoche can enter China so easily which leads us to believe he is on a mission on behalf of the Dalai Lama and obviously has the approval of the Chinese government to enter China. For this approval, it must be for official purposes as it is unlikely the Chinese leadership will simply allow such a high profile Tibetan exile who is anti-China to enter China. Since he has the permission from Chinese authorities to enter China, it must be Samdhong Rinpoche and China have prior communications and China likes what they have heard. “The Wire” broke this news and it has been nearly two weeks and his visit to China has not been ‘corrected’ by CTA in print. Which means he has really gone to China and the purpose is not clear also. What other purpose can it be but to negotiate with China for the Dalai Lama’s eventual return? All other negotiations by the Dalai Lama’s officials failed for decades now and Samdhong Rinpoche is touted to be very close to the Dalai Lama and a seasoned politician monk. “The Wire” published on December 4, 2017 stated that Samdhong Rinpoche is going to China to meet Chinese officials and alluded to the fact Samdhong Rinpoche is negotiating for the Dalai Lama to enter China/Tibet. CTA had nearly two weeks to correct this but has not till now. Everything leads you to believe Samdhong Rinpoche went to China to negotiate for the visit/return of the Dalai Lama. CTA’s Tibet.net official FB page weakly ‘corrected’ this statement suddenly because most likely Tibetans believe if you let known your intentions for a big project before fruitioning, it will be jinxed. It is more likely that they would not want the negotiations to be jeopardised through being highlighted by the press. Envoy Samdhong Rinpoche’s visit to speak to Chinese leaders on Tibet and Dalai Lama definitely would have the permission of the Indian government, Chinese government and the Dalai Lama himself. Someone of his prominence simply going to China has many ramifications and cannot simply be a private holiday or visit as Tibet.net would like us to believe. Tibetans around the world suspect the same.

Whatever the case may be, Samdhong Rinpoche did go to China as the envoy of the Dalai Lama. The fact China allowed an envoy of Dalai Lama to meet in China is good news. What can an envoy of the Dalai Lama be meeting Chinese officials for except the question of autonomy of Tibet and the visit of the Dalai Lama to China and possibly Tibet? Anything to do with Dalai Lama and his envoy with China will automatically be regarding the status of Tibet and his visit. After all Tibet is interconnected with the Dalai Lama.

On December 15, 2017, Tibet.net’s Facebook page ‘clarifies’ that Lobsang Sangay says Samdhong Rinpoche went to China and not the Dalai Lama that is going. We all know the Dalai Lama has not gone to Tibet. In “The Tribune” on December 15, 2017, the title of the article was ‘corrected’ to say “Former Tibetan government head visited China recently” by Ajay Banerjee. So obviously the CTA has asked the “The Tribune” to correct their ‘mistake’ of titling the article as “Dalai Lama headed to China on pvt visit?”. Whatever the title or the changes are, the fact remains that the Dalai Lama’s personal envoy Samdhong Rinpoche has visited China to meet with officials. The meeting whether labelled private or official has to be regarding the Tibet issue and the Dalai Lama’s return. This we can conclude as mentioned in “The Wire”, “Phayul”, “Tibetan Journal” and “The Tribune” media. The CTA being unclear and going back and forth on this is typical of their mishandling and unprofessional methods of dealing with the public. Tibetans are used to this type of governance. We can still hope that there are negotiations between Samdhong Rinpoche and the Chinese government on-going for the Dalai Lama’s eventual visit. I do not believe that the negotiations will not continue. The primary function of the Tibetan government-in-exile which is the CTA is to secure Tibet for Tibetans most likely under autonomy as this is the wish of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama has expressed he is ageing and wishes to visit Tibet soon.

究竟为何他被允许去中国了?”The Wire”, “Tibetan Journal”, “Phayul” and “The Tribune”全都报导了桑东仁波切去中国的事实了。

Updated Addendum (December 22, 2017)

In a strange turn of events, Samdhong Rinpoche has clarified that he in fact did NOT go to China, contrary to what was confirmed by Sikyong Lobsang Sangay. This situation comes across as strange and very contradictory since both figures are His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s two most trusted politicians. You would think that they would know each other’s movements and political dealings. However, this is obviously not the case.

What Lobsang Sangay and Samdhong Rinpoche have effectively done is falsely raise the hopes of the Tibetan people, before unceremoniously squashing it. It reflects nothing but hurtful, disrespectful treatment of the Tibetans who are now confused about what the real story is. Did Samdhong Rinpoche go or not? If he went to China, it would give them hope that after so long, there was at least some form of progress with China. Now it seems he did not go, contrary to what Lobsang Sangay confirmed. How can the two men appointed as the Dalai Lama’s trusted envoys be so uncoordinated in their information?

What is more, it is not a small issue that they have contradicted each other on. After 60 years of being in exile, the Tibetans are always hopeful for any small indications that they might soon return to Tibet. So to contradict one another on such a significant issue is serious. Not only is it unbecoming of two so-called leaders to bicker openly in the media when it concerns vital information, but Samdhong Rinpoche and Lobsang Sangay should actually be working together to be a potential force to unite everyone. Instead of toying with the Tibetan people’s emotions and hopes for the future, they should forget their differences and strategise for the Tibetan people’s welfare, to create the circumstances in which the Dalai Lama and his people can one day return to Tibet.

The fact is that before Samdhong Rinpoche denied he went to China1, Lobsang Sangay corrected the media, telling them Samdhong Rinpoche did go, but it was a private visit and people should not read too much into it2. And whether or not Samdhong Rinpoche actually went, here is the problem – one of the Dalai Lama’s envoys is not telling the truth to the Tibetan public. If Lobsang Sangay is telling the truth, and Samdhong Rinpoche did go to China, then Samdhong Rinpoche is lying when he denies the visit. If Samdhong Rinpoche is telling the truth and he did not go to China, then Lobsang Sangay was lying when he confirmed Samdhong Rinpoche had travelled there.

Now, if Samdhong Rinpoche did in fact go to China, what is interesting is HOW he got there. Samdhong Rinpoche is very well known for having criticised the Chinese government for decades so how did someone like him gain entry? Even if he was going there for a private visit, would China simply grant entry to someone who has been so outspoken against China? China is very watchful of who she lets through her borders, because her leadership is careful about who might cause instability for the Chinese people. And rightly so, as this is a concern for all sovereign nations, especially one as vast as China. So for someone as high profile as Samdhong Rinpoche, with a history of anti-Chinese rhetoric, how could he have made it to China so easily? Even Rinpoches and Buddhist monks who are not involved in politics at all have previously been stopped from entering places like Beijing even if they wear lay clothes.

So the Chinese can make it almost impossible for someone with a high religious or political rank, like Samdhong Rinpoche, to travel to China without prior approval, a set itinerary and concrete reason for visiting. Therefore his entrance into China was cleared either because he has connections with the Chinese leadership, or because his trip was actually for official purposes and so he received clearance. On balance, it would appear the latter is more likely because why would a senior monk of his age and stature go to China on a private visit to, for example, visit his family and do nothing else? And why would the Chinese leadership clear such a prominent anti-Chinese politician for entry into China, if it is just for a private visit?

Throughout this confusion, one thing remains very clear – the open tussle between the two leaders is based on their assumption that their people are gullible enough to believe in whatever information their leadership feeds them. But Lobsang Sangay and Samdhong Rinpoche underestimate the Tibetan people. Lobsang Sangay says that Samdhong Rinpoche went to China, while Samdhong Rinpoche says that he did not. How can anyone NOT notice and question something as contradictory as that? That is akin to the US President Donald Trump saying that he can enter China, but the Secretary of State Rex Tillerson saying that Trump cannot enter. Then two weeks later, a newspaper says that Trump can enter but another newspaper says that Tillerson states he cannot enter. This creates a whole lot of unnecessary confusion, and it does not speak highly of the governing body if their senior leaders are engaged in something as petty as an argument based on personal differences, or something as serious as misleading their own people.

The question also remains that Samdhong Rinpoche took a very long time to issue his retraction. If he did not go to China, why did it take him two weeks to reply and clarify the situation? For information as seriously inaccurate as the Dalai Lama’s envoy visiting China, that plays to the emotions and hopes of the Tibetan people, it should have been corrected in 1-2 days at the most. Why was the misinformation allowed to drag on and permeate for so long, before the situation was clarified? So the question here is why did it take Samdhong Rinpoche two weeks to notice that Lobsang Sangay had made a mistake in his comment to issue his own clarifying statement? Is it that Samdhong Rinpoche was actually in China behind their internet firewall, and did not learn of the statement by Lobsang Sangay until he left China so he was unable to retract it in time? Or did Samdhong Rinpoche not realise the ramifications of Lobsang Sangay’s statement, so he allowed it to go unretracted until he saw it an as-yet unrevealed impact on Sino-Tibetan relations?

Either way, this debacle reflects on the fact that the Tibetan government is disorganised and there is a lack of communication…incredible considering the exiled Tibetan leadership, which is based in Dharamsala, is not even that big or in occupying that large of a building that it would be difficult to contact one another to coordinate information! As small as they are now, living in exile, they are this confused and inefficient. One can only imagine how the leadership would operate if they were actually able to return to Tibet, with Tibet being so vast and there being so many more people to govern.

If they cannot handle 150,000 people in exile, and offer clear information to them, how will they be able to handle it if they become responsible for millions? Or will they continue to manipulate the emotions of their people? If they really want to govern an entire country, they need to change how they operate and make the change now so that they are prepared for the future.

December 15, 2017. Again, here the Tibetan Journal reports on the CTA clarifying news that the Dalai Lama is going to China. In their clarification, they said that it was actually Samdhong Rinpoche who went to China. So who is telling the truth now and who is lying? Is the Tibetan Journal lying when they published the CTA’s clarification which says that it was Samdhong Rinpoche (not the Dalai Lama) who visited China? Or is Samdhong Rinpoche lying when he denies visiting China? This is very confusing, and such poor communication and bamboozling behaviour does not reflect well on the Tibetan leadership which now looks inefficient and immature. December 19, 2017. This is Samdhong Rinpoche’s statement of denial issued two weeks after the news of his visit to China first broke in The Wire on December 4, 2017. Why did it take Samdhong Rinpoche two weeks to deny the news? Remember, Phayul is the CTA’s de facto mouthpiece, they only publish news that is supportive of the Tibetan leadership. In this same article where Samdhong Rinpoche denies visiting China, Phayul again mentioned that Lobsang Sangay had previously confirmed the visit. So which one is it? How come Lobsang Sangay cannot get clear confirmation of his counterpart’s whereabouts? Aren’t these two men supposed to be the Dalai Lama’s trusted envoys? Updated Addendum (January 7, 2018)

Yet another publication confirms Samdhong Rinpoche’s recent visit to China, although Samdhong Rinpoche himself denied the visit a full two weeks after the first reports emerged. It is unlikely that so many publications, as well as senior Indian officials, could make such a grave error regarding the movements of one of the top leaders of the Tibetan administration. This article also makes reference to China’s development of the Tibetans and how it may put a strain on the China-India relationship.

Great news HH Dalai have sent an envoy to visit China to negotiate a visit of the Dalai Lama to China and eventually Tibet. Well there could be a political change if its true about it. ‘The Tribune’ published that His Holiness is planning a private trip to China after Samdhong Rinpoche visited China then. Since 1959, HH Dalai lama left Tibet, he did mention that he would like to return and so as many of Tibetans in exile living in India , Nepal and else where. Millions of Tibetans in Tibet too would wish to see His Holiness.Hope more good news will follow if its true that His Holiness visit to China materialised. What ever the outcome this is really a historical event which everyone looking forward to it.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this great news.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Will the CTA (Tibetan govt in exile) and their supporters in East and West say voodoo is evil and cannot be practiced too? Will they advise against Voodoo and say its a demon’s practice and people who practice are bad too? Truth be told, no one has the right to say anything about anyone’s religion. Listen to what this man says in the short snagged clip because he speaks well and with the truth.

This excerpt of the Swiss Television documentary presented in 1988 is a painful reminder of the hypocrisy and the sad reality of the oppression, discrimination, and ostracisation of Dorje Shugden practitioners. For 20 years, Dorje Shugden practitioners have endured this and no one supported their fight as the Tibetan leadership in exile continues to undermine their effort by denying the existence of this ban, and silencing their voice by peer pressure, flooding the media and fooling the general public with accusations that Shugden practitioners are political tools supported by the Chinese government to create discord within the Tibetan community. Please listen to their plea and please share this video far and wide to end this injustice.

The latest on this is that HH Dalai Lama has cancelled all major schedules for 2018.

    http://www.phayul.com/news/article.aspx?id=40022&article=Dalai+Lama+cancels+all+major+schedules+overseas+for+2018

DHARAMSHALA, Jan. 10: The Tibetan exiled leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has cancelled majority of his overseas schedules including a visit to the city of Raleigh in North Carolina, United States, sources said.

The Dalai Lama’s Secretary Tenzin Taklha in a letter to the Raleigh city mayor Nancy McFarlane stated, “It is with deep regret that I inform you of a change in His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s schedule, obliging him to cancel the majority of his travels abroad, including the United States of America.

“We understand that there are many plans already in place to support Raleigh’s Compassionate City designation, and His Holiness looks very much forward to support these wonderful initiatives.”

Mayor McFarlane responded with hope for the Tibetan leader’s visit to her city in 2019. She wrote that she and her city respects the, “decision to delay all visits to the United States until after 2018. We remain hopeful you will grace us with your presence at a future date and are committed to making such a visit an enriching experience with lasting benefits.”

While there is no reason for the cancellation of the trips, the Dalai Lama earlier during an interactive event with foreign students in November said that he was unable to recover quickly from the long flights especially to United States as he grows older. The Tibetan leader will be 83 in July.

In August this year, the octogenarian Tibetan leader cancelled his trip to Botswana in Africa citing exhaustion and his physician’s advice not to undertake long journeys.

Such a move aligns with this article, that The Dalai Lama is planning a homecoming back to Tibet.

  15. Sonam Gibson on Jan 9, 2018 at 2:42 am

Here is another article that confirms Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche’s visit to China. This is an interesting development now raising suspicion why Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche denied the fact that he had traveled to China.

Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche’s visit to China should be a welcoming news for potential negotiations on His Holiness’ visit to China and eventually return to Tibet. This is a wonderful news and His Holiness deserves to be back to his home after all the hard work he has done for the Tibetan people in the past 58 years. It is therefore not necessary to hide such a wonderful news at all. There is literally NOTHING bad about Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche’s visit, really.

Apart from His Holiness’ potential return to Tibet, the visit also gives the Tibetans, especially those in exile, some hope for their relationship with China to improve. This should also give the Tibetans hope to eventually return to Tibet and finally be united with their family and friends whom they have not seen for more than five decades now.

Furthermore, unless it is confirmed by reliable sources, the former Indian intelligence officer would not have made such clear and strong claim with regards to Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche’s visit to Kunming, the capital city of the Yunnan province of China. So this claim by the former Indian intelligence officer is as good as Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche himself confirming the visit. The question is, however, why did Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche lie to say he didn’t go? What is the real agenda behind this?

I am copying and pasting the content of the original article for everyone to read in case the post is no longer available on the website. 😀

    ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Former Indian Intelligence Claims Samdhong Rinpoche Visited China

A former Indian intelligence officer claims in an article that the former Kalon Tripa or the Prime minister of Tibetan government in exile, Professor Samdhong Rinpoche had a four days China visit in November last year. The article by the former RAW officer says that Dalai Lama’s envoy would have met senior Communist party leaders during the visit.

Samdong Rimpoche’s visit to China materialised against the backdrop of strained India-China relations consequent to the face-off between Indian and Chinese troops at Doklam, says former RA&W officer Jayadeva Ranade according to the article in the Rediff.com.

“Samdong Rimpoche, who was nominated a month earlier as the Dalai Lama’s envoy for talks with the Chinese authorities, would certainly have met senior Communist party leaders during his four-day stay in Kunming, capital of China’s Yunnan province.” added the report claiming that the two-term Kalon Tripa (‘prime minister’) of the Tibetan administration-in-exile and one of the Dalai Lama’s most trusted advisers had quietly travelled to China in late November 2017.

The report also suggested that the Rinpoche would have met with the You Quan, a former party secretary of Fujian province whom Chinese President Xi Jinping appointed director of the united front work department in November or Zhang Yijiong, executive vice minister of the UFWD.

As China still do not recognise the Central Tibetan Administration, functioning as the Tibetan government in exile, president Lobsang Sangay has not accompanied the Rinpoche in the China visit added the article by the former Indian intelligence.

The former prime minister of Tibetan government in exile, Professor Samdhong Rinpoche however had earlier rubbished of the China visit when asked about whether he had made a China visit as being speculated and told that the news about his visit to China has no truth and it was nothing more than just media speculations.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this good news with us. I think is wise move for CTA to have good relationship with China because it not only help them to may be go back to Tibet it also help them to get financial aids from others country because a lot of this country do not support CTA because they are very much do not want to again China as China is one of major economic pillar in the world. May this good start will bring the ban down and more Tibetan be able to go back to their home country.

  18. Lum Kok Luen on Dec 28, 2017 at 5:17 pm

These dramatic, sensational turn of events, ploys, political talks and plays are too often symptoms of politics. It is a hard reality that what the public perceive as truth or not the truth are only relevant to that particular moment.
If it is indeed a fact that HHDL is planning for an eventual visit to China (and Tibet), then I would view it as a step that indicates China is indeed very generous and willing to back down to accepting “dissidents” and detractors. The entire Tibetan community in India is viewed by China as “treasonists” and may not allow them to set foot into China’s soil.
If, HHDL, does indeed visit China and if this is the first step for HH to “return” to Tibet, the CTA and its whole gang of politicians may not get to have any governmental portfolio at all. My view is that they may be put under state monitoring and may be treated as “political prisoners” and may well be restricted in their movements.

Whatever the outcome maybe, let us rest our faith and trust Dorje Shugden to help work the situation out such that the end result will be a win-win solution for all and for the Dharma to flourish and benefit many more Chinese citizens.

Thank you Your Eminence in sharing this piece of wonderful and yet intriguing news.

With regards to the Addendum, it is indeed confusing to me, what more the Tibetans who had so much hope on returning to Tibet. So who is telling the TRUTH?? Both parties can’t be right at the same time. Tibetan Leaders are always so full of contradictions. Just like CTA saying they support the Dalai Lama on dialogue for autonomy and yet CTA continues smear campaign on China and even attended the Rangzen event in Paris early this year. Or how CTA declares themselves to be a democratic government but then ban the practice of Dorje Shugden in a discriminatory act that caused so much sufferings to their own people. So what does the Tibetan Leaders stand for exactly? With their wishy washy stance that changes with the wind, how will their people gain the confidence and security in their own government as most progressive countries offer? Again the people are at the loosing end with more confusion then hope.

I rejoice for the news and hope that HHDL will put political issue aside and retire to his hometown, Lhasa soon. I believe when HHDL is back to Tibet, many things will changed for a better. He belongs to Tibet and the people of Tibet.

HHDL is the leading spiritual leader of the world who has been promoting compassion and harmony. Hence He is going to bring compassion and harmony to China and at the same time find the best solution for the better of his people. His return will stop the angry Tibetan from self-immolation, will unite all Tibetan included Dorje Shugden people, will bring peace and friendship between India and China, will open up the opportunities for all Tibetan refugees to return home too.

I would love and hope to witness the Chinese government open up her arms to allow and welcome the 83 years old HHDL to return home after 58 years. I wish to both leaders, Xi and HHDL work together for the better of people of Tibet and China. This is truly beautiful by showing the world, world peace is possible. We shall all pray for this day to come soon.

H.H Dalai Lama visit to China will bring hopes to many Tibetans especially the Dorje Shugden practitioners. In China , religious freedom been practiced widely and no discrimination on any religion faith. Once Dalai Lama back to China, all the allegations on Dorje Shugden practitioners related to China must be removed because China is practising religious freedom .
The political issued within China and Central Tibetan Administration bring sufferings to Tibetan especially CTA accuse Dorje Shugden Practitioner in Tibet are China Spy and funding from China. Why Dorje Shugden practice must link with politics? Dorje Shugden practitioners are advocate peace and harmony and bring Dharma to benefit more people. I wish the visit of Dalai Lama to China will unite all Tibetan regardless religions and bring back harmony to Tibet.

Thanks Rinpoche for sharing this good news.

This is a wonderful development and has many beneficial implications between Tibet, China and India. I too wish that H.H. the Dalai Lama’s wish to visit China and Tibet will soon be fulfilled.

I fully agree that all the rhetoric against China by Tibetans should stop immediately and not to jeapardise the ongoing negotiations with China for a smooth passage on Dalai Lama’s homeward bound plan. Tibetans should wisely stay close and support this positive plan. All Tibetans must see that the wishes of the Dalai Lama quickly materialise without a hitch. Hence, likewise all negative attacks on Dorje Shugden practitioners working with China must also stop now.

The Central Tibetan Administration must also align to China on the practice of Dorje Shugden and lift the ban as China supports religious freedom which include the freedom to practise of Dorje Shugden.

  25. Uncle Eddie on Dec 18, 2017 at 5:11 pm

As expected of the good news that anything to do with His Holiness, The Dalai Lama and his envoy with China at this time will certainly be connected and automatically be linked to the status of Tibet and His Holiness’s to China at this juncture of time! The hopeful wishes, of course, of all Tibetans, as well as the millions of anxious, loyal and compassionate Buddhist practitioners of Dorje Shugden, will of course be praying hard and vigorously that Tibet will be peacefully secured back for the suffering Tibetans, most likely under an autonomy, in accordance with the wishes of His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, as well the deep compassionate desire of the Outside World. If such expectation receives the good blessings of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Ban of Dorje Dhugden would automactically be well taken care of as well! It is indeed also a God-send opportunity that His Holiness “home-coming back trip” is expected to be made a successful fairy tale episode come true after a long lapse of absence of 58 years, which we all, and the outside World would greatly feel deeply appreciated to China for their Great compassion and generosity! Om Mani Padme Hung,

It is heartwarming to note that the Dalai Lama has sent His envoy, Samdhong Rinpoche to China to prepare for the Dalai Lama’s wish to visit China.

It is obvious that Samdhong Rinpoche’s visit to China has been agreed upon by both the host country, India and China, otherwise it is not possible for the visit to happen.

As the intention of this visit is to path the way for Dalai Lama’s visit, I see this has a great leap forward for Tibetans who even though are Chinese citizens will for their religious inclination be so very happy to see the Dalai Lama again.

The Dalai Lama has taken steps to work towards autonomy of Tibetan in China, and not allow Lobsang Sangay and CTA to proclaim independence. I wish Dalai Lama long life and success in His current endeavour with China.

  27. Pastor Elena Khong Jean Ai on Dec 18, 2017 at 9:17 am

With all due respect, after reading this article as well as the screenshots, I have come to conclude that Lobsang Sangay acts from arrogance and delusion, and with him at the helm of the CTA, they are not going to get very far.

First of all, India does not owe anything to the Tibetans, for him to ask that they make the Tibetan issue a lynchpin of the Sino-Indian relationship. India has over 1 billion people, and has many more issues to deal with, than to make the issue of 150,000 refugees into their main focus (lynchpin). On what basis does Lobsang Sangay have to request India to stake their international relations on the welfare of just 150,000 refugees (whom, by the way, the CTA are sabotaging in their attempts to become Indian citizens and contribute to Indian society)?

Second, India has no right to force Beijing to change its mind. China is a sovereign nation in her own right, with her own laws, policies and system of governance. For Lobsang Sangay to think that India has any right to change Beijing or guide another sovereign nation’s policies is delusional. Did the Tibetans appreciate it when the British signed treaties on the Tibetans’ behalf, without consulting Gaden Phodrang? Did India appreciate it when the British colonized them for 200 years, and dictated all of their domestic and foreign policies? So for Lobsang Sangay to imply that it’s India’s responsibility to change Beijing is (1) rude and disrespectful of Chinese sovereignty (2) rude towards India, to impose that kind of responsibility on India.

I also found it very interesting that the second someone drops the Tibetan cause, Lobsang Sangay automatically implies they are no longer “liberal democracies” and are somehow evil (i.e. what he said about Norway and Denmark). My question is, why does any country HAVE to support the Tibetan cause? Why is a country’s goodness or virtue measured by whether or not they support the so-called Tibetan cause?

Norway and Denmark has, first and foremost, a duty of care towards their own citizens, just as India has a duty of care towards her own citizens. If a relationship with the Tibetans has no benefits, but a relationship with China will benefit Norwegian and Danish citizens, then the Norwegian and Danish government have a right to make whatever decisions they want / whatever decisions are necessary to benefit their own people. They owe nothing to the Tibetans.

So personally, I find it extremely arrogant that Lobsang Sangay will insult countries in this way the second they drop the Tibetan cause. It’s exactly how he has tried Dorje Shugden practitioners, by labelling them anti-Dalai Lama or anti-Tibetan, without any proof or basis to do so. When he does this, Lobsang Sangay is essentially saying that if Norway and Denmark reject the Tibetans, they are not good. They are only good if they support the Tibetans. Similarly, if you practice Dorje Shugden, you are supposedly against Tibet and the Dalai Lama and therefore not good. If you give up Dorje Shugden, you support Tibet and the Dalai Lama and are therefore good.

On a minor note, I thought it was pretty illogical for him to say that China is scared of having 300 million Buddhists, when there are only 82 million Communist Party members. First of all, the 82 million CCP members have something the 300 million Buddhists do not – an army. What are the 300 million Buddhists going to do, chant and meditate their way to revolution? Illogical. Second, the fact China has 300 million Buddhists which is more than their CCP membership actually demonstrates that China DOES have the religious freedom necessary for 300 million people to openly identify themselves as Buddhists. So contrary to what Lobsang Sangay and the CTA insist – that China suppress religious freedom – in fact this figure proves that China does not.

After reading all of this, I can see more clearly why it was Samdhong Rinpoche who was sent to China to negotiate on this so-called ‘private’ trip. Lobsang Sangay, for all of his Harvard education, does not seem to know the first thing about foreign relations and diplomacy. No wonder Lobsang Sangay for the nearly 10 years he’s been in power, has not been able to secure a single meeting with the Chinese. Unfortunately for the Tibetans, they appear to have elected a leader who works on the basis of “divide and conquer”, applying it to his own people throughout his time in office.

  28. Pastor Shin on Dec 18, 2017 at 8:25 am

The discreet visit of Samdhong Rinpoche, now the Dalai Lama’s personal emissary and former prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile to Kunming, China is a precursor of something big to come. I do not think this is merely a ‘private visit’. The fact that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has appointed personal emissaries and Samdhong Rinpoche as one of them is seen to be a move that suits and appeases China as Beijing has been emphatically asking the Dalai Lama to stop travelling to Western capitals, if talks are to be resumed.

As mentioned by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche, there are just so many positive outcomes if H.E. the Dalai Lama visits China. First of all, the Tibetans in Tibet who have been waiting since 1959 will finally see the return of their spiritual leader to Tibet. This may also lead to 150,000 Tibetans in India to also return to Tibet. Although it may be too early to conclude, this could be the start of the resumption of formal dialogues between the Chinese and exiled Tibetan government.

More and more countries are dropping their support to the Tibetan cause and as His Holiness is no longer heading the Central Tibetan Administration, there is uncertainty over how the Tibetan self-determination movement will unfold if the Dalai Lama’s era of leadership comes to an end as His Holiness ages. It will be great news to the world, and the Tibetans especially if Beijing and the Dalai Lama work through their differences and expectations to end the 58-year estrangement of Tibetans.

Thank you again Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful news.

  29. Pastor Niral Patel on Dec 18, 2017 at 6:48 am

This article truly does give hope to a situation that for so long has seemed bleak. The Tibetans for over 60 year have lived in exile, and even though there has been some form of dialogue but something that has never fruitioned. In fact this dialogue was undertaken during the time that Samdhong Rinpoche was the Prime Minister of then Tibetan Government in-Exile. Since the President Sikyong Losang Sangay became the elected head of the Tibetan government their ceased to be any efforts on the side of the Tibetan to initiate meaningful dialogue to create a better situation for the Tibetans.

This brings me to my next point, why is it the Samdhong Rinpoche was the one to initiate this visit, and how come Samdhong Rinpoche was so easily granted access to visit China. It is strange that the Chinese government, who are known to be very strict in who or not they let in to China, would very easily allow Samdhong Rinpoche into the country, and even then to meet top officials. If this was a private visit, then surely they would not have let him into the country. But as a visit to meet officials, this visit was granted. Samdhong Rinpoche must also have very strong connections with China and top officials in the country to be able to visit like this.

Even though I do rejoice that some form of dialogue has once again opened up, I cannot but think about how Dorje Shugden lamas who have connections with the Chinese are seen as traitors, while someone like Samdhong Rinpoche is not. Within the exiled community to have any sort of connection with the Chinese, is to instantly be labeled as anti-Dalai Lama and a traitor to the Tibetan cause. But the fact remains that this is the very thing that Samdhong Rinpoche has done. It is very obvious that Samdhong Rinpoche himself has very strong ties to China, so why is he not labeled as anti-Dalai Lama and a traitor to the Tibetan cause. This just once again highlights the double standards in within the Tibetan community and the utter baseless of the accusations hurled at Dorje Shugden practitioners.

Leaving the Dorje Shugden issue to the side, and looking at the bigger picture of the Sino-Tibetan relations, however, this news is a very welcome breath of fresh air, and I pray may very well be, the beginnings of a final and lasting resolution, whatever it may be.

  30. Sock Wan on Dec 18, 2017 at 1:23 am

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this news. If His Holiness goes back to China, it will be a big thing for China and the Tibetans in-exile. I hope by His Holiness going back to China, Tibetans can be reunited with their families, just like when West Germany unified with East Germany. The next thing after this should be the lifting of Dorje Shugden ban, this will immediately unite the Tibetans also, Tibetans are separated because of the ban. Families break apart, teacher and students split and people are segregated.

I really hope His Holiness can help Tibetan in-exiles go back to their homeland and end their lives as a refugee.

  31. Lin Mun on Dec 17, 2017 at 10:10 pm

This is a great news. I really hope HH Dalai Lama is able to visit China and engage a peaceful talk with the China government. Once this materialised I am sure many positive change will fall in. I hope HH Dalai Lama can visit Tibet that is his home country and benefit many other Tibetans who would like to meet him. If HH Dalai Lama can return to Tibet the people living in exile would also be able to return.

Ultimately, I hope the Dorje Shugden ban will be lifted and all Dorje Shugden practitioners do not need to suffer the discrimination set by CTA anymore. Everyone can then gain freedom once again.

  32. Joy Kam on Dec 17, 2017 at 1:03 pm

I think this is really good news that H.H. is going to visit China. Perhaps this will help start the preservation of Tibetan culture, religion and even the environment. Why I say this is because let’s face reality, China is the No.1 superpower nation in the world right now. And if we want to help the Tibetans living in Tibet and preserve the culture, we need to work together with those that are in power to help us. Put aside the past and the differences and look towards the future. As a famous saying goes, choose to be the problem or the solution.

Yes China may not be the best in human rights and “perfect” but hey which country is? Name one country that has not violated, persecuted, discriminated another living being, be it human or animal. Before singing the praises of countries like Britain and the USA, take a look at their past and take a look at where they are at now. What did the British do to half of the world, including of very own country Malaysia? They colonised us and took as many resources as they could and profited from our land. They even converted the locals to their religion and spread their religion. So let’s not be too quick to point the finger… because every superpower country had in one way or another abused their power over the weaker minority and invaded the land that does not belong to them.

I am glad to see H.H. the Dalai Lama actually taking proper steps, and I am sure it is one which he has contemplated in great depth as the best possible solution to help His people and to also preserve the Buddhist teachings. I think this news is positive, as many Tibetans are dying to see His Holiness and for them, it means seeing Buddha Chenrezig, so imagine the hope and strength H.H. will bring his people in Tibet! I rejoice and I hope H.H. manages to actually go to China and that something positive will arise from His trip. I look forward to this news as I believe it will affect many things including the ban on Dorje Shugden. One thing is for sure, His Holiness will not be able to impose the ban on Dorje Shugden if His Holiness is in China and in this way, it benefits us Shugden practitioners. Hopefully, then peace and true Buddhist kinship and harmony would be restored.

  33. Pastor Adeline on Dec 17, 2017 at 12:33 pm

This move by His Holiness the Dalai Lama is very necessary knowing that the CTA will not be able to negotiate or to make any progress on the Tibetan issue. With the compassion to benefit all sentient beings, His Holiness did the most practical thing which is to work with China just like every leader in the world. In this way, there’s hope for the Tibetans in exile, at least to regain their identity and to be in a place where they belong.

The 5/50 plan mentioned in The Wire, however, doesn’t sound logical. First of all, India has granted a 99-year lease for the Tibetans since 1959 which has already reached 58 years in 2017, there are only 41 years left. The Tibetans are already struggling when His Holiness is still alive, and since the CTA has proven to be incapable of even arranging for a dialogue with the Chinese, it is clear that the struggle will continue if the same group of people remains in the Kashag. Let’s just hope that His Holiness manages to strike a deal with President Xi and that the Tibetans can finally settle down after close to 6 decades of struggle.

The news that the former Tibetan Government head and personal envoy of HH the Dalai Lama visits China is such beautiful news. Indeed it would be amazing if the Dalai Lama could visit and stay in Tibet again. Besides the millions of Tibetans who were hoping to see HH the Dalai Lama again, even the Tibetans in exile in India can go and visit their homeland.

And the many conflicts between the Tibetans and China would cease so that peace and harmony can grow for the benefit of all. Which is close to my heart is for sure the Dorje Shugden conflict, which can end as there is no connection with Dorje Shugden and China against the Dalai Lama. All these baseless accusations can stop and we can focus back on our practice.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the great news about the healing between Tibet and the Dalai Lama with China. I deeply wish that Rinpoche continues to spread the Dharma into all the directions and continues to guide us on our spiritual path with the most precious Buddha Dorje Shugden.

Samdhong Rinpoche the Tibetan former PM speaks out against dangerous Rangzen (independence seekers) people against His Holiness the Dalai Lama. People should never support independence of Tibet from China. People should support the Dalai Lama’s middle way policy which is autonomy within China for Tibet. People should appreciate the Dalai Lama’s leadership and follow his direction for autonomy. Those who don’t are obviously very dangerous and against the Dalai Lama according to Samdhong Rinpoche in this video. It is a must watch with English subtitles.-

    Dear Rinpoche

Thank you for the article. It is indeed a good news and such a relief after. The relationship between China and the Tibetan government in exile have been one of suspicion and distrust. It seems that the stagnation was turned into progress since Samdhong Rinpoche was appointed as the Dalai Lama’s emissary. Within a short period, he managed to visit China and strike discussion with relevant parties. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama visits China, that would be good news and open the door for many other possibilities within the Sino-Tibetan leadership.

I believe if there is significant progress in the Dalai Lama relationship with China, the accusation that we received on a daily basis that Dorje Shugden practitioners are Chinese spies, which is totally not true, will diminish significantly, and the ban on Dorje Shugden practice will become irrelevant since China has respected the freedom of worship for Dorje Shugden practitioners have sponsored Dorje Shugden lamas such as the Panchen Lama.

I am really looking forward to hearing more positive news regarding the Sino-Tibetan leadership in the near future.

Great news indeed, now HH the Dalai Lama has wanted a trip home to China and visiting Tibet which his priority. Much earlier he has sent his envoy Samdhong Rinpoche to negotiate with China’s leaders for his private visit. HH Dalai Lama has been longing to visit to China after 58 years of exile, It would be a wonderful reunion for HH Dalai Lama as well as the millions of Tibetan living in Tibet. It could be a beginning of China and HH Dalai Lama having a peaceful dialogue or discussion which many of the Dorje Shugden practitioners and non practitioners been looking forward. For those hundred thousands in exile in India will be overjoy as they might be given a chance to migrate back also . The relation between India and China could improves with HH Dalai Lama visiting China. The visits of HH Dalai Lama will both benefits the 2 countries. May the wishes of H H Dalai Lama comes true. And may HH Dalai Lama dissolves and lift the ban on Dorje Shugden soon.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this great news.

It’s a rejoicing news to hear that there is light for HH Dalai Lama to visit China! After almost 60 years, many Tibetans have been wanting so much to meet HH Dalai Lama. I hope it will also leads to HH Dalai Lama’s visit to Tibet eventually.

With the visits, it will definitely leads to more peace, harmony and unity between Tibet and China. I’m sure it will help on the social economy for both parties too.

In order for HH Dalai Lama’s wishes to be back to Tibet, I do hope the CTA and some of the extreme Tibetans would stop bombasting China and calling China with all the derogatory names. They should also stop the discrimination on Dorje Shugden practitioners and also stop defaming them for China spy, China dogs etc. They need to create peace with China for HH Dalai Lama’s wishes to Tibet to come true.

May this day come true soon!

  39. P David Lai on Dec 17, 2017 at 4:43 am

I find this extremely intriguing and strangely timely for this to happen. Already the Dalai Lama’s private office had announced the Dalai Lama’s poor health and has canceled recent appointments.

This may or may not be connected but the fact that Samdhong Rinpoche and Lobsang Sangay was able to travel to China on a ‘personal trip’ sounds like an amateurish cover up for something much more. I don’t know what is in store for the future of Tibetans in India and of the Dalai Lama has he approaches his ‘silver years’ but one thing is certain, he would need to eventually retire as all lamas do, in order to prepare for his future incarnation.

Whatever the reason for the trip to China, the promise of reconciliation with the Dalai Lama is all too enticing and could very well be the truth. I think this will have greater ripples for Tibetans the world over. For one thing, if the Dalai Lama does retire in China, he would be made to be quiet on making political statements. China is harsh and hard on what is perceived to be dissident ideas and opinions, which I am sure China would no doubt ensure the Dalai Lama is well aware of while his potential stay in China.

That would mean that the Dalai Lama would have less and less chance to be able to talk against Shugden in the future. What might happen would be that the Dalai Lama might issue a clarifying statement that would somehow have an effect of retracting the ban or just a generic statemtn to call off all activities that are not in the interest of the Tibetan people. Whatever it is, this piece of news has all the potential to have tremendous impact as it unfolds and the impact is not just on Dorje Shugden but on a much wider scale.

  40. Martin on Dec 17, 2017 at 3:13 am

On the one hand, this is positive news and I hope His Holiness the Dalai Lama does proceed with the visit. Hopefully such a visit by the Dalai Lama will be the trigger for Chinese and the Tibetan leaders-in-exile to resume conciliatory dialogue on ending the Sino-Tibetan conflict. It has already been too long and in the name of statecraft, so much have been politicised including the lives of the Tibetan people and even Tibetan Buddhism.

Clearly, it takes more than one visit by the Dalai Lama (if it happens) to work. There is also a part for the CTA (Central Tibetan Administration) politicians like Dr Lobsang Sangay to play. To begin, if the CTA is truly seeking opportunities for the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people to return to the homeland, they must stop with all that jingoistic talk and contentious posturing.

It would also augur well for the Tibetan leadership to consider why they have lost so much standing vis-à-vis their relationship with nations and governments who have supported them for decades, and in addition, what values they bring to those who continue to support their cause.

For certain, there must be a change in attitude and outlook on the part of CTA leaders. As an example, in The Tribune report of 15 December 2017 (‘Former Tibetan government head visited China recently’), Dr Lobsang Sangay was quoted as saying, “India should make Tibet the lynchpin in changing Beijing” and that “Tibet must be declared the core issue”. And in addition, “Either you transform China into a liberal democracy or it transforms you”. And by that Dr Lobsang Sangay was citing Norway and Denmark as examples of nations who had been ‘transformed’ by China to abandon the Tibetan Cause.

And here, we see signs why any positive steps made by the Dalai Lama towards China will ultimately fail. The CTA expects China to conform to the CTA’s terms, and the CTA expects other nations of the world to put the Tibet issue ahead of their countries’ own national interest. India for example, must use the Tibet issue as a “lynchpin” in “changing Beijing”. Dr Lobsang Sangay however failed to say why anyone should do that and by what reason India and the other nations must continue to place the CTA’s interest first? And indeed, by what means can the CTA expect Beijing to change?

One thing that has become clear in recent years is that countries find no benefit in supporting the Tibetan cause. The CTA has failed in more than half a century, to build any values or benefits for anyone to continue to support their cause. Not only is the campaign for Tibet increasingly plagued with corruption, the CTA’s reputation as a democratic ‘government’ that protects human rights has also been shot to pieces by their own breaches of various human rights provisions vide their religious ban on Dorje Shugden practitioners.

Today, standing with the CTA on the Tibet issue is extremely costly as Mongolia found out just before they banned the Dalai Lama from visiting again, at least during the term of the present Mongolian government.

Personally, I feel it is the CTA that has to change before anything good comes out of the Dalai Lama’s efforts. In any case, I hope a visit does happen and that ultimately the Dalai Lama can return to Tibet for good. The Dalai Lama has worked so hard for the Tibetan people all his life and this is the very least His Holiness deserves. In addition, I cannot wait to see the end of all the harmful and baseless allegations that Dorje Shugden people work for the Chinese to destabilise the Dalai Lama’s government.

  41. Callista on Dec 16, 2017 at 11:50 pm

This is certainly good news. His Holiness Dalai Lama (HHDL) has spent most of its time in another country to benefit more sentient beings. If he visits China, HHDL will have his wishes come true to return to his birthplace and there goes the exile Tibetan will also have the opportunity to return to their homeland.
In addition, the controversy of the Central Tibetan Administration will be resolved as No One Will say Dorje Shugden practitioner colluding with China (which is a false statement)

I sincerely, wish HHDL and all the exile Tibetan will be able to return to Tibet and may the false accusation about Dorje Shugden practice will be ended

In these days, in order for Dharma to propagated more swiftly, it is essential to rely on much external cause and condition. Without these, it could be hopeless for Buddhist to achieves our ultimate goal. Some eminence monk being labeled by “Political monk” like His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Venerable Master Hsing Yun. All eminence Sangha who do really works for the brighter future of Buddhism really suffer a lot, both mental and physical sufferings. That is why they are the one who we should take refuge with. A person who is selfless and purely benefits others by any skillful means do really worth for our respect and offering. This is the value of Sangha. Not every member of the Sangha have these kinds of great aspiration and action for others’ welfare but there are really some living Buddha within this community.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the extremely good news as there is nothing happier than His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama planning to visit China and eventually, opens the opportunity for the Dalai Lama to return back to His birth place, Tibet. The visit of the Dalai Lama in China will definitely bring more good news and benefits to all Tibetans in their own Tibetan land as well as other Tibetans, who are living in exile, which I believe the Dalai Lama will touch on the topics of the collaboration between Tibetans and Chinese in the aspects of economy, financial stability, tourism and most importantly the welfare of Tibetans as currently Tibet is part of China now. When the Dalai Lama visits China, there will be no more segregation between Dorje Shugden practitioners and non-Shugden practitioners because democratic country such as China will view Tibetans as one. As there are more and more news citing about the Dalai Lama to visit China, it is very convincing now for Dorje Shugden practice to be spread further, reaching to more people without any barrier or limitation as China allows for religious freedom and emphasize on peace and good security. May the Dalai Lama safely and smoothly return back to Tibet with ultimate happiness.

This private visiting between Dalai Lama and China will bring positive changes. Dalai Lama has always wanted to go back to Tibet. Dalai Lama’s followers should support His Holiness’s will and make his dreams come true.

Besides, visiting China gives positive impact to Dorje Shugden practitioners as they are no longer being accused as Chinese spy or Chinese agent that receive money from China. The allegations and baseless accusation about Dorje Shugden can be stopped too.

  47. CindyH on Dec 16, 2017 at 2:31 am

Thank you, Rinpoche, for sharing such encouraging news and hopefully this marks the beginning of more positive changes in the nature of relationship with China that will lead to the eventual return of Tibetans to their homeland. It appears that there are finally practical steps forward driven by HH Dalai Lama after the disappointing stagnation on the part of the Tibetan leadership. Given the circumstances, the Tibetan leadership really ought to buck up and do their part in supporting HH Dalai Lama or at the very least refrain from any further irresponsible actions which may jeopardise HH Dalai Lama’s reconciliatory efforts. And it is only logical for the Tibetan leadership to start by immediately refraining from antagonising China with derogatory remarks and also to cease instigating people especially Tibetans to cast negative imputations towards China, including the defamatory accusations of Dorje Shugden practitioner as Chinese spies. Promoting harmony by lifting the Dorje Shugden ban will also go a long way towards removing the obstacle of China’s mistrust of HH Dalai Lama as a separatist. Definitely echo the prayers for this to work out for the Tibetans and also for the lifting of the unwarranted Dorje Shugden ban.

    Dear Rinpoche

This is a very surprise but pleasant news. H.H Dalai Lama have finally wanted to go back to China. After H.H Dalai Lama left Tibet, China have not stopped to benefits the Tibetan in China, in fact, President Xi have put in many policies to benefit the Tibetans in China. Compare to Tibetans refugees in India, the CTA have not done much to take care welfare of their own people.

If Dalai Lama returned to China, it is a good news that the Tibetans could be unite again. Thus, no more segregation between Tibetans who practice Dorje Shugden and Dorje Shugden practitioners have to become the scapegoat to be blame as harming the free Tibet issues.

If CTA will do take over Tibet from China, with the poor management they have, looking at how the manage Tibetan Refugees in Indian and the tactic of using Dorje Shugden to separate Tibetans will lead chaos to the Tibetans in China. Thus, it is not a bad things for H.H Dalai Lama to back to China. More harmony amongst the people could be restore, families can be unite and the lineage of Dorje Shugden will not bare the untruth anymore.

May the Dorje Shugden ban be lifted clearly and quickly.

    Thank you

With so much difficulty faced by the CTA, I feel the Dalai Lama is taking the right practical steps. CTA has dug a hole for themselves, there is no way I can see CTA coming back from the ‘dead’ in its relationships with other countries around the world. The 5/50 initiative does not sound like a Dalai Lama initiative, as the Dalai Lama as a normal human will not be around in another 50 years.

I think the Dalai Lama for making the difficult steps to return to his homeland, and ending any thoughts of ever wanting independence from China. Now I also wonder, the Dalai Lama’s biographer Achok Rinpoche, was in fact doing reconnaissance work for His Holiness after all? One can surely dream.

The cold relationship between China and Holiness seems to be thawing. Hopefully, all parties concerned would make it their priority to fulfill His Holiness’ wish to visit China and eventually Tibet.

I am confident that whatever that Dorje Shugden predicted would come true as I know how accurate his prophecies are. A good example of such accuracy would be how Dorje Shugden helped His Holiness to escape to India.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful news, Rinpoche.

This is such good news since the Dalai Lama and Tibetan refugees have been in exiled since 1959. Allowing His Holiness Dalai Lama to enter China will eventually lead to him visiting Tibet. Hopefully people don’t use this as opportunity to fan the flame of hatred.

For China I think they stand to gain by their willingness to accept the Dalai Lama into China. It will create a better impression on other countries and Tibetan themselves too that China is willing to change. One can say this is diplomacy game but nowadays when both parties stand to gain, in a win win situation, why not?

It is a rejoice indeed for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to have this opportunity to visit China and even better to come to an agreement for Tibetans In Exile to return home after such a very long time. As mentioned many of the older generation may had already passed but those still alive hold the memories close to their hearts. I would imagine that upon returning to Tibet, His Holiness and the many Masters who follow will once again bring Tibetan Buddhism to its glory again. I also see vindication for the many practitioners of authentic Protector Dorje Shugden as the rights of religious freedom must be returned to them as per China’s law. It would be a show of genuine intention if the current Tibetan Leaders were to swiftly remove the ban and practice equality amongst religions as China would not welcome discrimination which could potentially create strife amongst the people. This happened as proven with the current situation of Tibetan Leaders’ ban on Dorje Shugden practice which had lead to so much discrimination, segregation, persecution and harm to innocent Lamas and practitioners who kept their faith.
With this potential of His Holiness the Dalai Lama negotiating for Tibetans In Exile returning home, a stark point stood out to me. The Failure of the Tibetan Cause was man-made and certainly not as claimed of protector Dorje Shugden. CTA has been holding out from negotiations with China for Autonomy Rule as advised by His Holiness but instead had chosen to sit in their comfort of receiving ludicrous sponsorship monies which amounts to millions per year. Without having to work for money, well, except for creating propaganda against China, I would think it is difficult to chose having to work if they were to return to Tibet China. It is also obvious that it falls back on the Dalai Lama to make the move as most CTA members supports the Rangzen movements as shown in the recent meeting in Paris. All the propaganda accusations against China did not lessen which also proves CTA’s wish to prevent negotiation with China. CTA placed ban on Dorje Shugden practice to divert activities and attention away from the questions of why are they not negotiating with China.
I feel so vindicated after having been called China spy and pay rolled by China just for practicing Dorje Shugden. In The Wire, it was said that many Chinese monetarily supported the Dalai Lama….dare CTA and the Anti-Shugdens accuse His Holiness the same? And most certainly Lord Dorje Shugden did not harm the Dalai Lama at all as His Holiness goes into the 80’s rather healthily since the proclamation 20 years ago. In fact I would say that most Dorje Shugden Lamas and practitioners held the Dalai Lama in the upmost respect as I see our Guru, H.E. the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche always does. Never once had Rinpoche ever uttered in anyway to be disrespectful even throughout the abuse, defamation and death threats from the Tibetan Leaders’s followers. It is painful to see the deterioration of these followers due to the illogical ban on a valid 400 year old lineage practice that had proven time and again to be beneficial. May His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s wishes be fulfilled and Tibetan Buddhism once again be the glory of Tibet. May our Guru’s wishes for the unity of all Tibetan Buddhist practitioners be fulfilled with the lifting of a misguided ban on Dorje Shugden. May the wishes of Rinpoche’s students be fulfilled when Rinpoche dismiss the early retirement to continue Turning the Wheel of Dharma, to work in tandem with the Dalai Lama in bringing the glory of Tibetan Buddhism to its golden era. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this much welcomed news that will effect many positive changes in every aspects.

Thank you, Rinpoche, for sharing this wonderful news that the Dalai Lama is finally visiting China. With this visit, and the strong resolve of Dalai Lama wanting to return to Tibet, it is hopeful that the Tibetan refugees can also return to Tibet soon. This 60 years old hostility can be out of the way, CTA should ceased defaming Dorje Shugden people as Chinese spy, but follow what the Chinese government has been practicing instead – religious freedom! Dorje Shugden people once returned to China, will be able to practice their faith freely.

What a wonderful news for the day! It’s been decades since Tibetan been refugee in the land of India. By taking this steps from Dalai Lama, Tibetan able to return to their homeland where they we born and unite with the mother nature. Hopefully by this steps too, anti-shugden stop all their accusation, defamation, segregation and discrimination against Dorje Shugden practitioner and they able to restore the harmony in Tibetan community.

  57. Lew on Dec 15, 2017 at 9:33 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing such a good news. After almost 60 years of exile, this is the biggest hope we can see for the Tibetans out Tibet so far. We thank everyone who work hard to make this happen so far.

Personally, I wish that HH Dalai Lama can issue an official statement to stop people from calling the Chinese derogatory names, and that HH Dalai Lama would open disassociate people who are trying to sabotage the deal. I am very worried that there are people who do not want the Tibetan in exile to have a working relationship with China, and they pretend to be HH Dalai Lama’s supporter and it can make things complicated. So, best is if HH Dalai Lama to open and transparent about it.

I sincerely pray that this will work out for the Tibetans, and look forward to the reunion of families and friends. I also pray that, with this, the issue on Dorje Shugden can be finally resolved.

  58. Beng on Dec 15, 2017 at 9:05 pm

Incredible news indeed. This would be good for so many people – Tibetans in China, Tibetans in India, Tibetans in Nepal, Tibetans all over the world, Dorje Shugden people all over the world, Buddhist practitioners all over the world, etc etc.

I too sincerely hope that His Holiness the Dalai Lama does visit China and eventually Tibet, and that all Tibetans and the Tibetan administration do whatever is necessary to support His Holiness’ visit to become a reality!

  60. Karen张 on Dec 15, 2017 at 7:07 pm

This is great news for the unity of Tibetans! It’s been far too long that Tibetans have remained refugees in India, and throughout the world, it’ll be nice for them to visit or eventually return home!

I have always believed, that there is no point for the Tibetan Leadership to go head on against China, because nothing can be achieved. Tibetans still continue to remain as refugees, with time ticking, while China continues to grow in the world. In this way, if talks are done, a more mutual understanding can come to light. With plans for His Holiness to visit China, the best outcome for the TIbet – China situation will be initiated and eventually solved for the betterment of all! I am sure it can only get better from this visit thereafter.

Dorje Shugden is highly clairvoyant. Just as how he had adviced for HHDL to flee Tibet in 1959, he had already predicted these changes in the political climate which will be beneficial for all parties.

Thank you for such wonderful sharing, Rinpoche!

  63. JP on Dec 15, 2017 at 3:13 pm

This is indeed fantastic news! HH the Dalai Lama has also wanted to return to Tibet. Visiting China is definitely a first step towards a harmonious relationship with China. It is a step that makes a lot of sense as China has become a super power to reckon with. Being against China would not benefit the Tibetans. No country in the world would want to be in the bad books of China due to economic reasons.

Supporters of the Dalai Lama, as suggested by Rinpoche, should immediately stop all their negative talk on China and discrimination on Dorje Shugden practice. Disharmony of any sort will create unnecessary obstacles for the Dalai Lama to unite with China. It will be interesting to see how many people who have been bashing China and Dorje Shugden practitioners actually stop all their abuse for the sake of the Dalai Lama accomplishing his goal of returning to Tibet. Otherwise, they will be accused of being against the Dalai Lama.

Now all the haters of Dorje Shugden will have to take a step back and think again about all their false allegations and abuse they have been hurling on Dorje Shugden practitioners for the sake of being seen as supporting the Dalai Lama. It is interesting to see what happens from now on.

  64. Pastor Han Nee on Dec 15, 2017 at 3:02 pm

It is truly wonderful news of the strong likelihood of the Dalai Lama visiting China and then, Tibet, going home to his homeland! Thinking of the tremendous wave of benefits alone makes this so precious! This is something that is very significant and all Tibetans and Tibetan Buddhist around the world must have yearned for it to happen. Nonetheless, all parties should exercise care in what they say. Hamony and unity must first prevail amongst all and a respect of the Dalai Lama’s wishes and let Dalai Lama have the mandate to speak on behalf of all Tibetans.Meanwhile, all schismic style attacks -negative anti-Shugden talk -must cease and be withdrawn from all websites. Give peace a chance. Give the eventual possibility of all Tibetans wishing to go home be allowed to go home a chance! Above all, let the potential of a visit by the Dalai lama become a reality!

Ji Gong the mad monk is a very famous figure in Chinese folklore. Even though he is a monk, he doesn’t live in the monastery, he was always wandering around wearing a very old and torn monk’s robe, he looks dirty and crazy. He also likes to eat meat and drink alcohol. However, he is always helping people without wanting anything back in return. The way he carries himself is very similar to the Indian Mahasiddhas. Read more about his life story, it is very interesting.

If we care about our body and health, we should take on a vegetarian diet. It is scientifically proven that eating meat will increase the chances of getting heart disease and cancer. There are many benefits when we take on a vegetarian diet. To name a few, we can reduce inflammation on our body, our blood cholesterol levels will plummet, we can reduce the chances of getting type 2 diabetes.

Thank you Rinpoche for this short biography of a greatmaster. Khedrup Gelek Pelzang, 1st Panchen Lama – better known as Khedrup Je – was one of the main disciples of Je Tsongkhapa. He became a monk at an early age and studied under great masters. He taught extensively, gave many initiations, and guided many renowned scholars at that time. He is considered to be the First Panchen Lama and was an incarnation of Amitabha Buddha. He wrote an important text on Kalachakra initiation which is still used by Tenzin Gyatso, HH the 14th Dalai Lama. . Amazing , he wrote many prayer books and his collected works total nine volumes in all.

Lhawang Chokyi Gyeltsen was the first member of the lineage, born to a noble family. At a young boy ,he had a strong desire to become a monk, even composing a letter in verse to his parents, expressing his desire to ordain. He became a monk at an early age, and studied under great scholars. At the age of fourteen Chokyi Gyeltsen was recognized as the reincarnation of Baso Chokyi Gyeltsen. He did received numerous teachings from many great teachers, lamas and he even studied sutra and tantra under them including the Third Dalai Lama.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting read.

Buddhist art has a rich and intricate tradition of expressing the divine iconography of awakened beings. They are not just beautiful works of art but contain powerful symbolism and are representations of the stages of an awakened mind. Therefore, they serve not just to entice our senses but also to invoke the presence of these awakened beings, empower our meditations and plant powerful blessings into our mind stream. The e-books featured below contain a treasure house of precious knowledge about Buddhist art, iconography, pantheons of deities and so forth. These e-books serve to guide people in their artistic representations of the divine and also in personal practice. I hope you enjoy reading them and come back to them again and again in your study of Buddhist iconography.~Tsem Rinpoche

The most famous Vajrayogini pilgrimage site I think is in Nepal. Tsem Rinpoche has written many articles about Vajrayogini in Nepal. But did you know in India, there are also a few Vajrayogini temples? One of them is the sixty-four yogini temple in Hirapur, Odisha. It is a very ancient temple for people to worship the yogini.

I don’t know much about Vajrayogini until I came across one of Rinpoche’s blog post “Starting On Vajra Yogini NOW!” 2 years ago. Since then, I paid more attention to read and understand the posts that related to Vajrayogini.

Vajrayogini practice is considered the most suitable for people of these degenerate times due to the stronger desire. And Vajrayogini has ability to transform desire energy into enlightened virtue. That is most encouraging and inspiring when Vajrayogini appeared to HH Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and promised him that those who received Vajra Yogini practice from him, and inclusive of the following 4 generations, would be taken to Kechara Paradise within 7 lifetimes. From here we can see Vajrayogini is so compassionate and wanting us to be free from suffering soonest possible. Of course, we should not forget our precious guru in this spiritual path. Without our guru, we may not have opportunity to learn and practice dharma. Without our guru, we know nothing about Vajrayogini and her sacred practice.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful post that let me develop a strong faith in Vajrayogini.

Human is the biggest destroyer of our living environment. In the process of development, many trees are cut down and the wildlife animals lost their habitat. Eventually, the wildlife animals extinct and the weather becomes warmer as the eco-system is disturbed. It is a good news to know that India in planting more than 66 million trees in 12 hours to try to save our planet from human destruction.

When disasters strike, it is normal that we will be running for our lives, leaving for a safer place. When we are running for our lives, are we also taking our pets with us? When the flood happened in Houston, Texas, many pet dogs and cats were tied up and left behind to die, this is extremely cruel.

The 17th Karmapa escaped from China and went to India thinking he could learn the Buddhist doctrine from qualified masters. However, this was not the case as these qualified masters are not easily accessible. He has expressed his disappointment and frustration in a video he has recorded. The 17th Karmapa was sad because he could not do what he is supposed to do, i.e. to teach Dharma. It is sad to know a high lama like him is not able to do Dharma work as much as he wants to.

Pastor Antoinette Kass first came to Malaysia all the way from half a globe away – Luxembourg to meet His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche in 2011, after getting know and learning Dharma from Rinpoche just from online resources (Youtube, blog, Facebook…). She has always been spiritual and had visited places like Findhorn in search of spirituality. On the first meeting, Rinpoche had a nice chat with her and presented her a Vajrayogini statue to encourage her in the Dharma path.

She did not have personal contact with Rinpoche after that, and yet from that single meeting of just one hour and her promise to Rinpoche to do more Dharma, she has been keeping her promise and is very consistent about it. Since then, she has been coming back to Malaysia yearly to volunteer and learn in Kechara (most of the time did not have the opportunity to meet Rinpoche), and lately made plans to relocate to Malaysia so that she can pursue her Dharma aspirations full-time.

This is a miraculous White Tara statue from the Majapahit empire in Indonesia. The statue was made 800 years ago and its was hidden in a well with gold and silver as offerings. When it was discovered and being owned by a collector named Yan, two lamas wanted to bless it. It was Lama Chokyong Yeshi Dorje, who is a Bhutanese oracle for the deity Tsiu Marpo (In Gelug tradition: Kache Marpo), and Lama Rangbar Nyimai Ozer, the founder and President of the Bodhivastu Foundation in the United States. During the blessing ceremony, there are miracles manifested and realise that this white tara statue is a terma. Lama Chokyong Yeshi Dorje saw a mantra from the back of the statue and wrote it down. This image, shot by photographer Ding Zuhe and called, “Monk’s Posture,” won first prize in the China category for National Geographic’s 2017 photography contest. Here are six people, all in some form of sleep, lethargy, stupor, or unconsciousness. There are two women (the one in the foreground looks older), and four males: a child in the foreground, a teen or young adult to the far left, and a young man plus a slightly older one in the right corner. Ding leaves open to interpretation how they feel; for all we know they might be comfortable. However, it doesn’t look like as if they are. Then we have the monk: sitting in a classical Zen posture, his head slightly bowed, cross-legged, dignified, a noble contrast to the six sloppy engines of flesh splayed out around him.

The current form of Naro Kachö Vajra Yogini appeared to the Indian Mahasiddha Naropa after he meditated intensely on her practice inside a cave. He beheld her glorious form in a vision. This unique form later became known as Naropa’s Vajra Yogini or Naro Kachö, as it had never existed before. Later, in Tibet, His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche also had visions of Vajra Yogini. His vision differed slightly from the vision of her that Naropa beheld. In the original Naro Kachö form, Vajra Yogini looks towards her pure land named Kechara. However in Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche’s vision, she looked straight at him, symbolic of the deity empowering him to bestow her practice onto many people in order to benefit them. The practice of Vajra Yogini belongs to the Highest Yoga Tantra classification that leads to tremendous inner transformation and can even grant Enlightenment within just one lifetime.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

In 1989, Bill Porter, also known by his pen name ‘Red Pine’, travelled to the Zhongnan Mountains in China to meet some of these hermits and learn about their way of life. This resulted in his publishing the work titled Road to Heaven: Encounters with Chinese Hermits in 1993. 25 years later, Bill Porter travelled back to the same mountains to see if life there had changed. The outcome of this particular trip was a documentary titled Hermit, about a modern-day journey into the heart of the hermit tradition in China. This is a must watch documentary with so much to learn to enhance our lives which will give us hope as we are all drowning in materialism’s false promises.~Tsem Rinpoche

Wrathful Dakini Ucchusma-In the form of wrathful dakini, Ucchusma has 3 eyes; with both hands holding a vase with nectar at her heart level, her hair loose, and no ornaments. She wears a garment of black silk, with two legs, feet together, standing on a lotus and sun disc. This deity functions to remove negative energy and pollutions from body, speech and mind. The practice was conferred by a Dakini to Drupangsa. -Mantra: Om ar-kham zir-kam bu-ma-na-se ou-cus-ha-ma ma-ha tro-da hung phet

Stunning photo of offerings on my shrine photographed by Victor Choi. The lighting is beautiful. Offerings of food, fruits, drinks, flowers and incense are made on my shrine daily. For me the shrine is a portal to the Enlightened Beings and connecting to their blessings. Blessings to accomplish positive things in my life for others and myself. We do need this connection very much in our unpredictable lives where can experience so much anxiety, pain and a feeling of senselessness. We should never lose our connection to the Enlightened Beings and be firm about it. We will eventually need them no matter how \'good\' things seem now. Today this photograph taken is beautiful and I wanted to share it.

May everyone who visit my page here be blessed, your obstacles cleared, be healthy and have a long life.~Tsem Rinpoche

We have to discipline ourselves in order that our mind can allow the Buddha Dharma to take root. When it takes root, our lives will change for the better. What we perceive in the world around us is dependent on the attitude within us. Never give up improving on ourselves because that is the true road to peace and happiness. We are worth it. Others are worth seeing us in our best.~ Tsem Rinpoche

I am in love with only you my Adamantine Lady of Coral hue. I am in love of liberation, freedom and wisdom I seek in you. Even to whisper your name Vajra Yogini excites me to the core of my soul. I have been away for so long and I wonder when I can join my supreme mother in Akanishta. My love for you has no end and it only grows. My mind is focused on you daily and my heart only awaits for you to place sindura on my crown soon. Nothing I have seen or experienced in this deceitful world can remotely compare with you my dear wisdom lady. Please with supreme sound of damarus, cymbals, incense and voices of sunyata, embrace me to ascend amidst rainbow lights effortlessly to my home. My true home where you will bring me. Bring me home soon. In my heart only lies you. In your heart I know I am existent also. We are one.~ Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

Precious opportunity in Kechara Forest Retreat! "As Kechara Forest Retreat is a sacred land, filled with holy and blessed statues and many holy items, His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche encouraged Kecharians living and working in Kechara Forest Retreat to embark on a spiritual pilgrimage of its holy sites." ~Tsem Rinpoche

We have many outdoor sacred images of various Buddhas. The ones that were visited were Tsongkapa, Nageshvaraja, Loma Gyoma, Tara, Nagarakshasa and then back to Tsongkapa. At each location circumambulations and lamp offerings were done. We walked the vast land while chanting Migtseyma mantras. The very elderly followed to each location in cars. Kechara Forest retreat is 70 acres of land located in rural Bentong, one hour from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. ~Tsem Rinpoche For more information: www.tsemrinpoche.com
