Blog Chat Etiquette

These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.

EXPAND
Be friendly

Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

Be Relevant

This is the blog of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Please respect this space. We request that all participants here are respectful of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his organisation, Kechara.

Be polite

Avoid the use of language or attitudes which may be offensive to others. If someone is disrespectful to you, ignore them instead of arguing with them.

Please be advised that anyone who contravenes these guidelines may be banned from the chatroom. Banning is at the complete discretion of the administrator of this blog. Should anyone wish to make an appeal or complaint about the behaviour of someone in the chatroom, please copy paste the relevant chat in an email to us at [email protected] and state the date and time of the respective conversation.

Please let this be a conducive space for discussions, both light and profound.

Extract from an interesting article : “……….. We still speak for God, in more sophisticated ways than all the times before put together. We keep speaking for the gods, for God, for the Buddha – we are speaking so much, so often, that we do not ever hear ourselves. Remarkably, the Buddha knew about this all along. He refused to speak for God. If God does not or cannot speak for Himself, then no one should. The Buddha is a listener, the great listener, who listens to the soft gentle voices of nature, telling us where to look for God and beyond. These voices are all within ourselves, the voice of our heart’s love. We can only hear them when we are happily silent. Hence, the Buddha is also known as the silent sage (muni). We can understand why the Buddha called his saints “listeners” (sāvaka). If we want to follow the Buddha to hear those soft gentle voices of wisdom, we need to stop speaking (and writing), for a while at least, so that we can sit in silence, settling our body and mind in true inner peace. Then, we will hear that silent voice that the Buddha himself heard, that inspired him to give up all the world and its gods, and awaken to everything.”

When we start to see the light that we really are, the light waking up in us, the radiance, we realize it has no intention to change us. It has no intention to harmonize. It has no agenda. It just happens. The Truth is the only thing we’ll ever run into that has no agenda. Everything else will have an agenda. Everything. Did we ever pull weeds from a lawn, grabbing only their tops, and discover they were back again so quickly that it was as if the lawn was never weeded at all. There is a difference between pulling the weeds of confusion out and getting to the root of Truth. So it’s really important to get to the point of maturity where we are willing to look at what is fundamental.

You CAN change, you CAN transform, you CAN improve, we can overcome it when we think we can overcome it, because we create the karma to overcome it. It is not magic, it is called karma.

If we are grounded in the foundational practices and we enter in Heruka and Vajra Yogini practices, we can gain high attainments, or enter in Kechara Paradise with our very bodies at the time of our death and or full enlightenment. This is the path that is most recommended by our lineage gurus.

I found this illuminating article explaining how much ‘poison’ we actually store in our bodies because we don’t consume the right foods or drinks to cleanse it! If you have never had a detox session before, then it is highly likely that your body contains a lot of ‘poison’ which is bad for your health.

This article tells you how having these toxins in your body can affect your health. It also offers simple solutions for you to eliminate them from your body.

Do put in some time and effort to take good care of your body – it is the vehicle that your mind inhabits in this life, and when one has good health, one is able to do more to benefit others.

When conceptualizing our accommodation at Kechara Forest Retreat, Dukkar Apartments, the idea of using containers came to mind. It was quick to implement, and durable for outdoor use. The idea seemed a bit different for most people to easily accept at that time, but everyone, including our VIP guests, have been very taken aback at how comfortable the space is!

    Benefits of large statues
    1. Plant seeds of liberation in all beings who lay eyes on the statue
    2. It is said that seeing the Buddha even when we are angry helps to purify the mind
    3. Creates waves of merit for those who help to sponsor, create and maintain the statue
    4. Pacify the environment. It is said that the construction of the Leshan Buddha helped to calm a particularly notorious stretch of the Yangtze River known for many drownings and ships capsizing

This is an important practice I’ve been wanting to have available for a very long time. Many high lamas, my teachers and even the my dharma protector has recommended this practice to me and the general public. This practice is not based on what school of Buddhism as anyone may practice this even if you are not Buddhist.

when we see someone that we love and we care about, or other people – a centre member, our friend or anyone – and they need help, our heart goes out to them. Our heart going out to them and our energy put into sorry for them can be directed better. It can be directed in a form of a puja.

What Am I Writing Now

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

This Vajra Yogini is in Rashi Gempil Temple in Howell, New Jersey. My guru Kensur Rinpoche invited this from India and enshrined Her in his house next to the temple. His house was right next to the temple. I use to go and look at Her always extremely fascinated. The statue is there now and here it is. Beautiful. Tsem Rinpoche

I want to be this Yogi in the picture. I want to be just like him deep within myself exploring the outer universe because I have conquered and mastered my inner universe. Because everything on my inside is explored, purified, cleaned and awakened, I venture out to the thousands of universes and limitless minds to bring them the truth of existence and phenomena. I wish to travel the three realms, various planes and six forms of existences. I wish to share vision of emptiness and bodhicitta which is the view to liberate the countless beings still trapped within themselves and their surroundings. I wish to be of tremendous benefit as I sit by my tree and placid lake. Tsem Rinpoche

On our Tsem Rinpoche's http://www.tsemrinpoche.com, a while back an article was posted "DORJE SHUGDEN: MY SIDE OF THE STORY", where Rinpoche shares about his personal journey of Dorje Shugden's practice, history and why he continues his practice even with so much personal attacks for his choice. This blog post has since reached over 100,000 now. This is news to rejoice. Many people have viewed this post and gained further knowledge on Tsem Rinpoche's relationship with Dorje Shugden and in the process learned more about the practice of Dorje Shugden. Maghada Sangmo on the top of the roof offering incense and requestiong Buddha to her home. Her relatives making offerings to naked Jain sadhus in her home. (right side). The left side sees Buddha arriving miraculously heralded by his entourage/students of Arhats riding various animal mounts. The Arhats have gained certain supernatural abilities. Buddha descends to the house and is at the door. Receives alms from Maghada Sangmo and gives dharma teachings. As a result, the city has taken refuge from listening to the Buddha and many achieve Arhatship. Due to Sangmo's devotion, faith and trust in Buddha, the Buddha arrives at her home and turns the wheel of dharma and many enter into the dharma because of this. This is a clip from a old thangka. TR

This picture was taken on Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. I was around 19 years old I think. I was living in Thubten Dhargye Ling Buddhist centre under the holy guide of Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen whom I love and respect so much. I was lucky to be a young boy in a huge city like Los Angeles and living under the guidance of a great master like him. I feel I have very good karma to find this master and trust him, follow him and live with him when other teenagers were doing such different things in a big city. My interest was always dharma. This was my tiny small room in Gaden for the first few years. The space next to my rooms are where the cows stayed. I had a huge crack in my wall and I can see the cows and they can see me! My room leaked very badly when it rained with a separate toilet nearby. The toilet barely worked and rarely flushed and had snakes in the toilet or behind the door a few times. The manager of the place told me I can get a better room that does not leak if I raise funds to build more rooms. I was barely getting enough to eat let alone raise funds for buildings. This was back in 1988 till around 1992 I lived in the small room in Gaden Shartse Monastery. I was having such a difficult time finding sponsorship, I could not at that time. But even still I was grateful to be in Gaden and always miss it. This room has since been renovated and fixed up. It has alot of memories for me. Spiritual memories. Tsem Rinpoche

No matter who we are, how much we have, how much we don't have, how we live our lives, we end up in one place. Spending our lives just accumulating and having fun is really such a waste of time. No money, power or person or God can ever prevent our destiny just a few years away. We are consigned to the hard cold earth alone or to flames..What happens after this momentous time is up to us right now. ~Tsem Rinpoche From: June Tang (Khjb)

。。 http://card.weibo.com/article/h5/s#cid=2304186d7edf5f0102w9gr&from=&wm=&ip=10.13.113.150?ep=CvInT0Qnm%2C1837031263%2CCvInT0Qnm%2C1837031263 From: June Tang (Khjb)

In this video, the question of whether Dorje Shugden is a malicious spirit or in fact a fully enlightened Dharma Protector is discussed and addressed with fact and logic. From: June Tang (Khjb)

~Sublime Shugden~ Praise to Dorje Shugden, The hero of samsara and who has overcome all desires, placid in the mind, steady in actions and fully awakened in all deeds. If we surrender our self habits to adopt the actions as recommended by Dorje Shugden and taught by the Sage Buddha, surely happiness and fulfillments await us as well as a garden of siddhis. We should not hold on to the petty and decaying possessions we temporarily hold onto both outer and our bodies, but in exchange trade them in for ultimate bliss. Rely on Dorje Shugden and not one's ego and attachments. Be not in regret when the day of transitioning from this life to another comes. Trust Dorje Shugden in action now and with immediate changes. ~Tsem Rinpoche From: June Tang (Khjb)
