As his name implies, he is a direct emanation of Manjushri but appears with the lower half of a naga. This form of Manjushri’s unusual appearance is a direct reflection of...

(译文请往下滑) This beautiful Standing Manjushri is located at the Manjushree Park at Chobhar, Kirtipur Municipality in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is believed to be the exact spot where Manjushri had cut Chobhar Hill and drained the water from an ancient lake in order to form Kathmandu Valley, thus making it habitable for human settlement. The local communities in Chobhar, led by the Jalbinayak Community Forest Users Group, have commissioned and installed this 33-feet-tall statue of the colossal Manjushri at Manjushree Park to preserve Chobhar’s cultural a...

Mount Wutai, better known as Wutaishan or Five Peaked Mountain, is a sacred Buddhist mountain located in Shanxi Province, China. Mount Wutai is identified by its five flat-topped peaks which are strongly believed to be the earthly abodes of Lord Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom. Each peak is inhabited by a different form of Manjushri. On the south peak resides the white form of Manjushri called Jvanasattva(智慧文殊菩萨). On the peak itself, there is a temple called Puji Temple (普济寺) where they house the Jvanasattva statue. On the West Peak there is Fa...

(By Tsem Rinpoche) Lord Manjushri was one of the foremost disciples of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni.
