BLOG CHAT

Dear blog friends,

I’ve created this section for all of you to share your opinions, thoughts and feelings about whatever interests you.

Everyone has a different perspective, so this section is for you.

Tsem Rinpoche

Scheduled Chat Sessions

We will be having a Kechara Chat Time this Wednesday April 23th 10-11pm (GMT+8) with the title The Benefits of Doing Retreats. Please come and join in the chat for a fun time and support. Thanks all see you all there.

Blog Chat Etiquette

These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.

Be friendly

Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

Be Relevant

This is the blog of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Please respect this space. We request that all participants here are respectful of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his organisation, Kechara.

Be polite

Avoid the use of language or attitudes which may be offensive to others. If someone is disrespectful to you, ignore them instead of arguing with them.

Please be advised that anyone who contravenes these guidelines may be banned from the chatroom. Banning is at the complete discretion of the administrator of this blog. Should anyone wish to make an appeal or complaint about the behaviour of someone in the chatroom, please copy paste the relevant chat in an email to us at care@kechara.com and state the date and time of the respective conversation.

Please let this be a conducive space for discussions, both light and profound.

Indeed another round of deleting my points and my message and left the ones that are just nice for everyone to see and watch. Im not here to cause any troubles nor create any conflicts but somehow rather the admin of teh blog indeed seems to be unfair and treated the ones who wanted to post the blog with their truthful comments for which for which i myself personally saw and witness. How about ask rinpoche to post blogs about Jesus as a vegetarian and a so called monk in a christian website hence perhaps a blog..see what is their reaction? Again rinpoche do not and did not encounter Jesus personally or having an intimate relationship as the christian are and yet he can posted Bible verses which rinpoche felt those verses relate to11 buddhism? since when the bible relate to buddhism?

Dear Dwayne Johnson, the pacifier and Vincent Tan,
With all due respect to you guys, please respect Rinpoche’s blog and do not have unnecessary misunderstandings here. This comment section was setup to “share your opinions, thoughts and feelings about whatever interests you”. Please use it wisely to share your thoughts and opinions constructively and I would advice you guys to share your opinions about the posts that Rinpoche posted if you truly respect Rinpoche. If you obsessively post things on a particular religion or master, you are proselytising. If you post once in awhile to share something universal and moving, that’s alright. But to proselytize here, that’s not particularly respectful especially if its from a different faith from Rinpoche’s. Yes, Rinpoche do regular posts things on masters and practitioners from various faiths because he is broadminded and wishes to share the universality of spirituality. This should not be used as an excuse to proselytize on his blog. This is not hard and fast rules but mere etiquette of someone who respects one another’s faith and beliefs. Don’t you think? This is not meant to offend anyone but meant to clarify things.

to both Vincent and the pacifier, even you yourself are confuse of what you are posting. “if this blog side just share only buddhism..whats the point that guru shared about Jesus Christ, Mother Theresa, posted pictured of Dalai Lama with Blessed Pope John Paul II and so on and so forth..the 84000 of syakmuni’s teaching do not include points that rinpoche shared on other religious figures and yet he shared from his perspective point of views which he believes would drawn many people to visit his blog and to create interest so as to benefits others..besides..he shared too other teachings on nick vujicic, the no arms and no legs charismatic evangelical pastor, and other dharma center master cheng yen.”- by Vincent. yes, you wrote that correctly, Rinpoche shares about the all this and also the other religion in a manner that allow everyone here to understand about other religions, but Rinpoche articles is all about facts and informative articles that allow all of us understand more about the others, but did you ever see Rinpoche posted any prayers or even praises to other religious community blog? you can say i am biased, but ask yourself the real reason you keep on posting praises in a Buddhist blog, and yet what is the point what you want to convey?
What ever point i am referring here is that is you as a guest visiting the house of a person, shouldn’t you be respecting owner of the house, lets say if the owner is a Buddhist, shouldn’t you in a respective manner as acknowledge the customs of the owner? We do not mind if you share about facts on the similarity that Christian and Catholic has with Buddhism, but really from you sharing it leans towards one side. This blog is not meant a platform to convert people to either side of the religion, but more of knowledge and understanding. I can say if you have been following Rinpoche blog and read all the articles here, you should have understand what Rinpoche is conveying.

people are sharing useful wisdom to each and everyone of you and hence I did saw Vincent posted a Tibetan chant translated in English in taking the calls of becoming protectors of other sentient beings. are all of you [...] doing that? instead of throwing tantrums, all of you trying to escape the truth and make ways for wrath and anger and mishandle the comments in an unfair manner. guru himself, as all of you said is generous and giving and that’s why he allows other articles to come and drop by to make his blog interesting as once Paul said, Buddhist is the only religion that embrace other religious beliefs?

    (Tuesday, Apr 22. 2014 08:55 PM)
Vincent, Rinpoche shares about other religions and other religious figures to create religious harmony. He is open, generous and giving. You are ‘sharing’ to create religious disparity and trying to convert. There is a huge difference. Go share on a Muslim site and see the reaction.

    Wisdom that Works
    by Berni Dymet
Prov. 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
I don’t think there’s one person on this planet that doesn’t want to have some more wisdom. I mean wisdom’s a good thing – right? So why aren’t we all a whole bunch wiser than we actually are?
Answer: because wisdom involves sacrifice. The dictionary definition of wisdom is this: having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; and the soundness of an action or decision by applying this experience and knowledge, and good judgment.
Boil that down and there are two parts to Wisdom. Knowing what to do – and then actually getting on and doing it.
And therein lies the problem. We’re all happy to have a bit of a theory lesson – but when it gets to putting that wisdom into action – we discover that wisdom has a cost.
According to King Solomon – the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. But then, many people don’t want to hear that. So here’s what happens – they keep on making the same mistakes, over and over and over again.

Hi dwayne..is that your real name..i should say..well..its doesnt matter..sorrry to assume that you are a Christian..good to know that you are raised a buddhist and grown up as a buddhist.it must be worthwhile spiritual journey for you to go through.the theme called 1 sect 1 dharma center that emphasize on buddhist teachings ONLY i should say would defeat the purpose what rinpoche wanted to emphasize on his blog..this blog has been visited more than a million visitors and its open..its never restricted or block anyone to go in to share their views which includes the chatroom..all views and opinions are most welcome which the administration allows that and i believe rinpoche would love more opionionated views and other articles to be post here which everyone is free to share.if this blog side just share only buddhism..whats the point that guru shared about Jesus Christ, Mother Theresa, posted pictured of Dalai Lama with Blessed Pope John Paul II and so on and so forth..the 84000 of syakmuni’s teaching do not include points that rinpoche shared on other religious figures and yet he shared from his perspective point of views which he believes would drawn many people to visit his blog and to create interest so as to benefits others..besides..he shared too other teachings on nick vujicic, the no arms and no legs charismatic evangelical pastor, and other dharma center master cheng yen.eventhough he shared ghostly figures on ghouls and spirits-big foot and fairies etc.are these teachings based on ONLY buddhist teaching or just merely [...]?.so having said…did rinpoche of the blog basically shared only ONE and his OWN views and just purely based on the 84000 texts or just the lam rim texts? NO..he shared other world views to make his blog visitable and interesting..what do you think now..
  • Dwayne Johnson
    (Tuesday, Apr 22. 2014 12:27 AM)
Dear Vincent, thank you for your lengthy explanation on your journey from Buddhist and becoming a Catholic, with all due respect we are all happy that you found a religion that you find comfort in and suitable to you. And for your information, i was never an Atheist or even or Christian, i was brought up as a Buddhist from young, well assuming the person of such and such without proper investigation and even understanding of the background is very much not necessary. For your info, i respect all religions, and even the person from other faith, because all religion main purpose is to bring about change and teaches about right moral conduct and bring about peace to all. But from the point of view of what this blog was created in the first place, it is to bring Dharma to all people, and even utmost importance is for those who are seeking spirituality in Buddhism, is to be FOCUS to one, and not be distracted from the others. It is due to this reason, many of those who Centre hopping, from one centre to another, does not find the answer they are looking for, why? it is Because they receive too many different advice and information which shrouded their mind, it cause more confusion, and that is why they could not even progressed in their practice, and then blame and getting angry at.
Tsem Rinpoche always promote 1 Lama, 1 Centre, and encourage those seeking spirituality in Buddhism to focus on one and go all the way, yet not losing the value of respecting other religion, which is what we see in Tsem Rinpoche. So my point is, it is not being selfish to just learn ONLY one religion, because when one FCOUS ONLY on one religion and study all the way, it provide faster and more concrete results then being half heartedly learning Buddhism, and then confusing their mind with another. if you Look even in all the Great Attain Master, i believe that you do since you went to many centre before, all of this Great Master focus on their own Sect and their Yidam.
Not everyone mind is the same that is why Buddha Shakyamuni has 84,000 teaching that is the remedies to all 84,000 mind. As a religious practitioner, i think we should respect other religion, understanding the vision and goal of the centre, before posting things which can create confusion. what if there are people posting prayers in tibetan or in Pali in a Christian blog, what would the visitor think? do you think they will be confused, and the community in that blog will feel that their space is being disrespected. The praises that you posted are beautiful, i believe you can benefit more people if you post in forum Lowyat and other religious community blog.

Continue from below, some even close themselves and left their previous paths because they are upset and no answer on their prayers..and they go on searching and searching until they found their own path of their choice in the name of protest..no one can control them as they cant accept the fact that they themselves protesting or angry on certain issues which made them close their heart, mind, soul and spirit to accept the fact all paths are meant to be peaceful, loving and caring..but some perceive in a wrong way and some even said that the scriptures or holy books regress instead of progressing without they themselves knowing or studying the books by their own..the translations went ugly more than benefit others..but who translated it? Humans? Or gurus? Or yourself? People tend to look at the ugly side of everything instead the positive and beautiful angles as we tend to be in this manner.we opt and tend to look at the dark side instead on the bright side..i dont mean to offend anyone but be more open instead of being selfish to ONLY learn one’s religion..

Hi dwayne..hope you are doing fine and well.dont be disheartened.Your devotion to the triple jewel especially to guru amazed me..this blog absolutely its free for everyone to go in and to post their opinion and articles which definitely will benefit many so as to deepened understanding of one’s another religion.i believe that this very main aim of the blog is to create understanding of each other beliefs and religion and paths so as to reach harmony..all teachings and religion as well as paths coexist together and leads to the One True God. Besides, guru himself wrote articles about Jesus and embedded Mother Theresa’s pictures onto his blog..He has his motivation to do..no religion nor any paths own by a single organisation or a community as we have our own free will to embrace and practice them..same to you..i believe before you are buddhist.you might be an antheist or Christian but you chose to believe in buddhism. Me too..am a buddhist but chose to embrace catholicsm on my own free will and beliefs as well as encounters..all articles posted is to benefits all and no danger of that so as long as you are open..i am catholic by faith but i did join several at gompas as well as temples and moreover joined in in the spirit of goodwill to attend dharma classes, and quranic studies to deepened my understanding on each paths so as to enlightened myself to be more adaptable and respect others as human being and beings on the earth..to love each other as Christ commanded and taught.

    The Great Confirmer
    Revelation 3:14
The word Amen solemnly confirms what went before, and Jesus is the great Confirmer; immutable forever is “the Amen” in all His promises . Sinner , I would comfort you with this reflection. Jesus Christ said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” 1 If you come to Him, He will say “Amen” in your soul; His promise shall be true to you . He said in the days of His flesh, “A bruised reed he will not break.” 2 Poor, broken, bruised heart, if you come to Him, He will say “Amen” to you, and it will be true in your soul as in hundreds of cases in years gone by.
Christian , isn’t this very comforting to you also, that there is not a word that has come from the Savior’s lips that He has ever retracted? The words of Jesus will stand when heaven and earth pass away. If you get ahold of but half a promise, you will find it true. Watch out for those who ignore the promises and so miss much of the comfort of God’s Word.
Jesus is Yes and Amen in all His offices . He was a Priest to pardon and cleanse once; He is Amen as Priest still. He was a King to rule and reign for His people and to defend them with His mighty arm; He is an Amen King, the same still. He was a Prophet of old, to foretell good things to come; His words remain trustworthy and true—He is an Amen Prophet. He is Amen as to the merit of His blood; He is Amen as to His righteousness. That sacred robe will remain most fair and glorious when nature shall decay. He is Amen in every single title that He bears; your Husband, never seeking a divorce; your Friend, sticking closer than a brother; your Shepherd, with you in death’s dark vale; your Help and your Deliverer; your Refuge and your Strong Tower; the Vessel of your strength, your confidence, your joy, your all in all, and your Yes and Amen in everything.

For tsemtulku – i Offer my deepest regard and respect. i offer prostrations of body , speech and mind to my Gurus, Buddha , Dharma, and Sangha. In a world that changes on a dime, i offer up my preconceived ideas of what unconditional love really is and pray for insight into the four giving, that i will one day become enlightened and for the benefit of all my mothers throughout space and time. Thank you Rinpoche for what must be endless hours of caring for us all.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

This mechanism was recovered from the Antikythera shipwreck in 1901. Its complexity and purpose was not understood for another hundred years. Dated to around 200 BC, it is identified to be an analog computer used to calculate the astronomical position of the stars and planets. Its juxtaposition among other ancient artifacts is akin to finding a jet airplane inside King Tutankhamun’s tomb. The device, whose inner workings are far more complex than a Swiss watch, is capable of accurately measuring the movement of the sun, the moon (and all its phases), eclipse cycles and the position of the planets. Who could have built this?~https://www.facebook.com/cosmic.intelligenceagency

Never be angry at your guru, Hold a grudge against your guru. Never seek revenge against your guru. Never talk badly about your guru to cover your mistakes. Don't abandon your guru or ignore  your guru because he loved you for you as no one else  did and dared to love your potential too. Never hold your anger for long against your guru. Your guru was only doing his 'job' by teaching you, showing you better, explaining the dharma to you and was very brave to do so for you as no one else would dare do so. No one would dare take that job. No one else dared to love you and give you more. ~Tsem Rinpoche

And Kalmyk Republic is the only European republic that is Buddhist and they are Mongols in ancestry. They are proud people. I found a video that is very good. It showcases all the dances of the various Russian Republics. Very beautiful and rich Russian heritage. At 27:59 of the video you will see the Kalymk performers doing the Mongol-Kalmyk dance. I use to dance in a Kalymk dance troupe as a kid, but I couldn't dance like this! I was amazed how beautiful it was done and talented the Kalmyk dancer are as well as the other republics. The Medicine Buddha is the composition of the buddhas. This means that when we practice the seven-limb prayer and make offerings with the seven limbs, we receive the same merit as we would if we had made offerings to all the Buddhas. Similarly, when we recite the mantra of Medicine Buddha, we collect unbelievable merit just as when we offer the seven-limb practice to Medicine Buddha. Be the cause for many to come to receive the healing of the Medicine Buddha and seal tremendous merits for yourself and your family in this life and the other lives to come.~Martin Get involved: http://www.medicinebuddhahill.com

~Living at home, the real reasons?~ Find yourself. Be with yourself. Fail and then achieve. There’s so much more out there. Find your inner freedom by making a change from the outside as a start. You can achieve. You can do it… why not… failure is only when you don’t try and go all the way… there’s really nothing to lose that you won’t lose anyway if you don’t do it! ~Tsem Rinpoche http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/students-friends/living-at-home-the-real-reasons.html From: June Tang (Khjb)

~You wanna be rich?~ Life is to live… living is dependent on everyone around you… so live for them, with them and together with them in integrity. Spread the message of true integrity, honesty and kindness… then you will be the richest person, alive and dead. Do work that is beneficial to others no matter what society says. Be special because you are, be different. Think different.~Tsem Rinpoche http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/inspiration-worthy-words/25305.html From: June Tang (Khjb)

~Be low maintenance~ After five years in the Dharma, you should be a student who is ‘low maintenance’ or no maintenance which would mean you have transformed because you took the Dharma to heart…Very little ups and downs should disturb your practice after five years. Having ups and downs is fine, but it should not ever usurp your practice, faith and diligence because you know to accept it to be karma arising you have accrued and have to experience. Be a student that maintains others and not need further maintenance always otherwise you should transform yourself faster.~Tsem Rinpoche http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/inspiration-worthy-words/be-low-maintenance.html From: June Tang (Khjb)
